Imdb page

I'm psyched that we have a 2018 date set finally.
James Cameron is responsible for the screenplay and they have good actors with a LOT of potential on board!

This could well be one of the best live action adaptations of Japanese manga till now. What d'you guys think?!

so far, seems interesting but the eyes are so weird it's hard not to feel uncomfortable from it.

Eyes are manga accurate, It is a passion project, so I am not concerned for it very much in terms of content.

if it is manga accurate, then why arent other characters have the anime eye treatment? bullshit. the prodycer doesn't understand that alita's eye and her face doesnt stand much as something jarring the manga or any other character, because it fit. when u make her look wierd in the movie while EVERYONE. is normal, it doesn't fit.

well in anyways, if the story is good, which i doubt, then i wont care about the eye. the early chapters of gunnm werent good to be honest. it was veey shounen-ish in many parts (no subtle in plot)

... But her eyes do look different than the others in the manga as well... so, yes, the eyes in the live action are accurate.

It was always Jim’s intention to create a photo-realistic version of the manga eyes that we’re so accustomed to seeing. We really wanted to honour that tradition and see that look standing next to any human character. To have the right person to emote behind it was really essential. Her origins are in the film and you understand why she looks that way. If the eyes are the windows to the soul, we have some pretty big windows. You can see a lot going on in there! When it gets to the emotional scenes it’s really uncanny and striking. And captivating!

She looks way different from most other cyborgs in the manga face wise too. Again, she ain´t human. I want to see more extremely proportioned people in the film (her limbs make no sense proportions wise either) and at least one of the hunters in the trailer did that.
So the film needs even more weird designs to honor the source material, which you likely didn´t read anyway. More pronounced lips for her would have been cool too.
The actress is 32 btw. Woah.

First in the manga she was teased that her eyes are little too big by the other characters, second she was the only character that was born and raised on Mars, her eyes are bigger because on Mars, being further than the Sun,the light is less and their eyes adapted to that.

isnt her eyes artificial? she is like the mc from ghost in shell.

beside, her eye proportions are shouldnt be taken seriously as that is just an artistic choice.
