For some reason, it really bothers me when one partner of a pair, usually the seme, looks like he's been scaled up 20%. I know it's a common visual trope and fits well with other popular themes like super girly ukes and remarkable age/position gaps, but it's a turn off for me.

So, can anyone recommend yaois where both individuals in the couple are the same size? They may still take on traditionally uke/seme personalities (although those cliches are usually a turn-off for me as well), but visually this should not be so obviously discernable. Also, I mean no offense to anyone who has the opposite preference. I'm a pretty casual yaoi reader but I've noticed that most series people list as their favorites seem to have the size quirk, and I've been able to read many of them and love them, but now I also want to indulge my superficiality a bit. Anyway, the only series I can recall atm that fits this is Haru wo Daiteita.

I'm sure there are quite a few that fit this description but the first one that comes to mind is Yellow by Makoto Tateno. If you haven't read the series yet, it's definitely worth a look.

-Gravity Eyes - if you want you can also read its prequel first
-Jounetsu no Young Man - the second couple
-Kondo Koso Honki - Nishina&Takei
-Man of 1 yen
-Mayou Otoko - actually check all Kano Shiuko's works
-Harenchi no Susume - hmm, characters were great but at the end the story become so cliche, nevertheless just give this title a go
-ZE - vol 5-6 Moriya&Ryuusei (this is a must! I love this couple xD)

Yay, much appreciated! I knew that there must be many works with equally and proportionately sized characters but looking for them was sooo tedious. Will definitely check all of those out!

Well, if you look into Bara, all the characters are going to be huge and muscular.

But if you're looking into BL, I have a few list of mangaka that are good with their proportions:

Ogura Muku is really good. Her work is more gentle, kind of shonen-ai-ish, but they're all good.

Fujimoto Haruki, Hayate Kuku, and Hidaka Shouko are all very good artists (at the moment just looking into my good author list).

The huge height or muscle mass difference is my pet peeve as well. It's been a while since I've read these, but I think these fit:
