Here at Soba-Scans we currently have 2 translators and 4 editors. Recently one of our primary translators received a good job offer he accepted to become an English teacher in South Korea. With his move, learning a new language by submersion, getting settled in at home, and receiving a new full time job - he won't have the same kind of time to translate as he once did.

We're looking for a translator to become part of the team and lighten the work load for him a bit.

Our expectations are a little high, as we strive for top notch releases from the very beginning to end, so we request that you have an excellent grasp of the Japanese language along with an excellent grasp of English.

Previous translation experience a huge plug, although not required.
There will be a short 5-6 page test to try out.

Our genres are mostly vanilla, however that's not to stop us from doing other things. However, here in Soba-Scans when it comes to translation and editing, both people must agree on the project.

For example: If one translator wants to do a project, and I don't like the content - they must go to another editor to finish it. If an editor presents a translator with a project and they don't like it, the editor must go to the other translator and if no one agrees - then the project cannot be done unless combined with efforts of a joint project with another scanlation team.

It's a relaxed atmosphere, we always hold real life responsibilities above all else, though we do expect consistent efforts put in. It's not very nice to take on a project and disappear for a week ): We appreciate and respect notices 🙂
