This week's poll was suggested by Afiaki. How many series do you actually try to keep up with?

You can submit poll ideas here
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903

Previous Poll Results:
Question: What do you mostly tend to in your garden?

Indoor houseplants - votes: 264 (12.4%)
Outdoor potted plants - votes: 132 (6.2%)
Hedges - votes: 21 (1%)
Trees - votes: 32 (1.5%)
Fruits - votes: 70 (3.3%)
Vegetables - votes: 160 (7.5%)
Herbs - votes: 70 (3.3%)
Flowers - votes: 101 (4.7%)
I live on a farm - votes: 51 (2.4%)

We're mostly introverted people who stay indoors and read or play video games 😛

This new poll feels like an intervention, like I went and checked and was genuinely shook at how many I'm juggling, no wonder I'm always behind on a bunch of them.

If we're talking about ones I follow, it's conservatively in the 500-1000 range (possibly a bit over in total once you combine between different websites), but if we're only going with the ones I'm actively trying to keep up with, that's still in the 500s somehow?

I think I really should go touch grass, but I'm just gonna read manhwa because I guess this is just what my life has come to.

There's only one anime series, which is 2000+. But without english translation.

I feel like it's around 100 or so but realistically, it's only about 10-ish at a time because of update speeds never syncing.

101-500 is quite the reach. About 250 (I also count Asian comics here) BUT all of these are ongoing trans/scanlations. 0 have finished translations and maybe 1/3 had no releases in at least 2 years. I need to read about half an hour a day on average to keep up with releases so the time commitment is low. Something like this.

My reading list says 50+ but I am NOT actively tracking that many. Half of those are on hiatus or waiting for scanlations. I am probably actively tracking less than 5. I don't like getting the storylines mixed up in my head.

When I look at my reading list, it says 3000+, but more than half of those are not updating anymore mmm...

And from the other half, I probably only really keep up with around 100, so yeah 100-500 I guess mmm...

I have no idea how to answer this poll, because my reading patterns definitely aren't of the "slow and steady" type. I only regularly follow 20-ish at any given time. I periodically binge which ever of the other things on my reading list I'm in the mood for, aiming for when the arc I was reading before has been completed (not infrequently starting from the beginning each time). So total may be over 1,000; but at any given time, I'm only keeping up with around 20.

Is that what the question means by "follow or keep up with?"

327 to be exact. At least, according to the list I have here. But there's also the manga list on MAL that doesn't overlap with MU's list....I feel like it might be around 500....haha.....

I second this. It's making me think about where I am in life right now. ^^

50-100? (Edit: 72 to be exact). Used to be a lot more, but I decided to decrease it and just follow/read old ongoing series that I haven't finished in a long time.

People around me often wonder how can I follow that much series, but honestly they don't always update everyday or every week. Some series even took months for an update.. 😅

Right now I have 168 on my list, so 101-500. I don't follow all of them regularly, but there are also several manga which aren't on my list because I don't remember them. I've evidently bitten off more than I can chew since I often start a manga where I left off only to find that I don't remember anything and have to reread from the beginning. Yet I still feel compelled to start more and more new series... Alas. I don't list manga on MAL anymore because it's too confusing. Also this site is way smoother to use than MAL.

My reading list used to be a lot bigger but I've tried to stop checking the new releases before I finish old series so that it's more manageable. Who knows how long that'll last.

I'd say somewhere between 10-50. If manga isn't updated often I will put in on hold and wait for more chapters. Or if I find my self enjoying manga more by bingeing it.

I have 400 on my reading list but definitely can't say I keep up with all of them. It's more like I read 10-50 actively and I juggle with adding new series to the list and dropping or putting on hold ones that I don't really care about anymore.

Though that doesn't include the ones which I've been waiting on for years, I'd probably restart them again to remember what was going on anyway.

I'd say about 20.

I more or less follow 15 weekly/ monthly series and sometimes I check out series I dropped to see if they get better or if my predictions were right, but only a chapter. And lets be honest half the series on more than a year of haitus usually get axed and the series I like which eventually fell of from need too much investment compared to the time I have(Ex: I don't consider I'm following Noragami but if it eventualy finishes I'll probably reread it to the end).

When I have more time I add a couple of ongoing series, but they usually go out just as fast as they come.
