Chapter 32 was just finished & I understand that it's the final chapter for the manga.

She steals a kiss from him on the cruise (they're on a cruise for their one year anniversary) & tries again but they never consummate anything - which is stupid if you ask me. Afterward when she tried to demand a kiss from him, they talk about it. At the end, he says, "You better be ready next year." What?!! I think it's wrong to make a spouse wait 2 years(!) for an intimate relationship whether you're their teacher or not. I think it just invites trouble and unnecessary heartache. Before this chapter I would've given this manga a 10. Because of this chapter, the idiocy about not kissing your spouse (come on!) and the stupidity of saying they'll wait another year, I'd give it an 8. It really angered me.

I'm with you, Kittycat 101, and I agree with the text in the spoiler box in LovinManga's post.

Most likely if a man actually treated his wife the way this one does he'd destroy her confidence in herself as a woman. Either that, or she'd leave him before he could do that. There is apparently some strange attraction for some readers in being strung along endlessly waiting for nature to take its inevitable course, but that's pretty dry stuff compared to the insecurity and emotional turmoil that behavior like this by her husband would cause a new wife.

Part of the issue is that even though she is a titular wife, she is still a high school student. As far as my faulty memory recalls, he has already expressed to her that he's attracted to her and wants to be with her, but he is also trying to leave the door open for HER to choose once she is really mature enough to make that type of long-term commitment. So, he's not trying to fuel insecurities, he's trying to "do the right thing" in his own mind. Personally, I think this relationship is probably way more unhealthy for him as a grown man than for her as a teenage girl.

I know what was said in the manga but if you look at this one compared to other teacher student mangas the teacher is actually showing restraint and control as an adult should in his mind. Looking at other teacher student mangas the teacher is the one that starts the relationship with a kiss, or the student sometimes, and then it goes from there and it is a very short manga. In those mangas the guy restrains himself for a short while and then says things like "I can't hold back any longer" or "I can't control it anymore". Faster than a Kiss goes against those stereotypes of men just thinking of sex or lustful thoughts. He does have them but he does not fulfill them. I think that is why the author has not had them kiss yet, cause it will turn into another typical teacher student manga. He wants her to grow and be a kid then turn into an adult and find her love whether it is him or someone else. He wants her to look at her future first before thinking about being a wife. It is closer to reality than most manga, since many people want to live life by partying and having fun when they are young, and think of their future as they get a little older.

I don't think he will let her either and I doubt she would also. He is obviously in love with her as much as she is with him. It is just the author pushing the limit on how long till readers can't take it anymore. They are playing on that feeling you get right before your first kiss and the feels you have when some one that you like touches you. Every person loves those feelings but we all have limits to how long we can stand just that feeling.

Yes. Most really odd behavior in manga and anime is economically motivated, and is either: 1) to keep the original readers reading, or 2) to bring in a new demographic to a slipping readership.

I wish i knew what that was like my first one was stolen and im a guy 🙁 . But being a guy i thought of something, if i was him and started kissing her i doubt i would stop there and i have about the same self control as ma-kun.

Looks like the next chapter is the last one and its in color 😢 another way to look at it is that this will be the last chapter for LaLa and that they are transferring or could transfer it to another magazine. I need to catch up to the current chapter.

Edit: just found this on the lala website
"color dramatic final chapter inrush!
Keep it secret honeymoon romance
Mecha Tanaka Faster than a kiss
Ayano engagement delivery did not submit fact is"
Guess we'll find out what is happening in the next chapter

He promised he wouldn't do anything to her including kissing till she graduate, so they aren't until she finally finish school 😉
