I find it funny...

They said that a black man will become the
President of the United States when pigs fly.

Sure enough, 100 days into Barack Obama's
presidency... Swine Flu. 😲

wow....that's actually kind of racist.....

Its a sarcastic joke that pokes fun at both the fear of swine flu and at people's silly racism...

In other words, I find swine flu just as important as racism. Its 2009, its a new world, and I have more important things to worry about than the race of my president or how many people in my city MIGHT get sick from an "epidemic"

So far you're more likely to die in a car accident than this so called swine flu, but that's never on the news... Don't trust the media, especially not American media when it comes to "disasters". They make everything sound incredible just for viewer numbers -.-

It's said that there is no censorship on media, but who wants to see boring news? Don't take things too serious without looking at the whole perspective. 😐

A school closed for a few days in my area because someone might have gotten swine flu there. But it's reopening tomorrow and the message was that:

The swine flu is no more dangerous than a normal seasonal flu.

Was worried in the beginning but meh, with all the media out there looking for sales in a tough economy...

You're only typing that because you haven't gone through it yet.

I'm just recovering from it. AND IT IS FUCKING BRUTAL. Yes, it's like the usual flu, but that doesn't make it any less dangerous.

^^ how many people have you infected? If i had it, i'd infect as many as i could before getting quarantined. Nevertheless i'm confident in my immune system. Never had a flu shot in my life, and the longest time i've had a flu for is under 1 day. It was a serious fever, trembling, sweating, the usual, but one night sleep and it was completely gone.

Nevertheless, new flu's always get a wide array of media coverage, from the typical scientific media coverage to the ZOMG WE GONNA DIE media coverage. I would say that we're fine, if that was the truth, but in fact we're pretty screwed. Some of the most common bacteria are developing immunity to antibiotics, our immune systems have been so coked up on antibiotics that they are barely developed, and new illnesses are coming out every week (or so). Add in the sheer number of stupid patients who don't follow antibiotic directions, and the fact that just about every animal born illness is mutating its way into a human strain, the hype swine flu is getting at the moment isn't too farfetched.

You evil bastard. 🤣

I caught it from going to my friend's apartment, and finding out that his two roommates had it. Then my friend caught it just a few hours later, and then I got it 2 days later. So far, I infected my 3 little brothers, my mother, and grandmother.

Thanks. And now I can finally get that hickory smoked ham I was eyeing at the grocery before I got sick. 🤣

I am quite disgusted by the coverage of swine flu atm. Especially after hearing Laurie Garrett on the Colbert Report talking about the current strain of avian flu in Indonesia that has a 80% mortality rate as opposed to the of swine flu which is below 1.

I guess it only becomes news worthy when white people start getting sick. 😢

well avian flu it's quite an old new ( 2003 ) and swine flu spread realy fast the first days so that why ( even if it's not that much, all around the world.
And even if that don't kill that much in America or Europe, this could be quite dangerous if that touch the African continent for exemple.

But i aggree i hope avian flu never spreed.

Personally, I see Avian flu and Sars to be the great threat to mankind. Swine flu is over publicized by the western media. 🙄
