New Poll - Dropped Series

This week's poll was suggested by our member zarul. Your favorite series was dropped by the only group that was scanlating it, so what do you do? Let's assume for the sake of the poll that the series is unlicensed.
You can submit poll ideas here (and try to keep them manga/anime-related)
http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=3903
Previous Poll Results:
Question: When I read an unknown word or complicated term, I typically...
Choices:
Gloss over it and don't bother looking it up - votes: 1497 (19.6%)
Use Google and read the first result - votes: 4085 (53.6%)
Go old-school and use a dictionary - votes: 608 (8%)
Use Wikipedia (or an encyclopedia) and read everything about it as well as the related stuff - votes: 1435 (18.8%)
There were 7625 total votes.
The poll ended: November 28th 2015

Guess most of all of us who've voted are sad sacks, me included. 🙁 Gotta say, I have a whole list dedicated to dropped/haitus/etc, sad times.

Yeah, there's nothing much for me to do if my favorite series gets dropped, which has happened numerous times. I'm currently learning Japanese, but I'm still at a very low level and it's a pain to read raws when I have to look up 90% of the words.

So many good series have been dropped; Angel Heart comes to mind.
Usually, these drop series don't get picked up and no other group translate it
this leaves us fans with never knowing how these series ends >:-(

I use a tablet with stylus to translate if I am really desperate. Fortunately, most of what I read don't have cliffhangers that would compel me to do so. Japanese is a massive pain to translate. It is the only language I know that uses logograms(kanji) and two different alphabets(hiragana and katakana). Props to anyone who manages to learn it as a second language. 🤢

Many series get dropped because their readers fail to make their interest known and make the scanlator feel that their work isn't worthwhile. Many series stay dropped because their readers "Do nothing and wait patiently (sadly)" instead of trying to get someone interested in scanlating it. To be fair, the latter is no one's fault since there is no reasonable avenue for leechers to make their wishes heard.

The options for this poll sort of annoy me.
Even if I can read Japanese well enough to make sense of manga, finding raws can be pretty hard. Aside from that, the last time I tried to buy manga in Japanese online my bank blocked my card from all transactions, because it was a Japanese website (even after discussing it with them I still couldn't buy the manga).
So although I can read Japanese well enough, when a manga gets dropped I don't think "no worries"...

I find the raws and look at them with(somewhat) or without understanding the words.
Sad! There are no Peak raws free out there. And can't even have a Daum account.
@lambchopsil: Yeah! Google indeed is. ^^
And I'm probably right(?) guessing that you choose this pole because of these recent disbandment of groups such as Red Hawk/RHN, Imperial Scans. Or something similar.

A mix of the first, sixth and last options for me - while I can understand common Japanese, my kanji knowledge is only elementary so I have to look for spoilers/summaries to understand long complex sentences.

Not actually why I chose the poll, but I can pretend that's the reason =P

If you want to get definitions of Kanji from reading raw manga (digitally) you can download Kanjitomo which lets you hover over Kanji from images and it'll give you the English definitions. There are also apps like this for taking pictures of pages (i.e. yomiwa).

The option "Find raws and understand them" is missing, because I usually don't bother reading the raws if it's available in English. Though even then I often just wait for someone to pick it up and read something else instead 🙄

Great app. Recognizes every character I already know, and fails to recognize whatever I can't recognize either. 🙂

I can understand japanese (with the help of a kanji-dictionary) so for me it's the last option I guess, but finding raws can be a REAL pain in the a$$. Also my japanese is still only intermediate level, so it really depends on the manga (theme, settings, dialect, genre etc.) if I can understand everything.
I don´t buy that 8 out of 100 MU users own a physical dictionary. How about 0,8% instead?
Google is also the best friend of a liberian and amazon is the official mistress.
Find the raws and look at them without understanding the words is the one i need to go with as lamb forbid the use of official licenses. I also look for a translation to go along if possible (a full text translation is actually all i need in general) and lastly polish up the MU entry to make the project look more attractive to potential groups. I can´t do that step with my European comics though...
All the big dead projects MinatoAce mention have already found a home so i see that as a moot point and we had similar poll on June 5th 2015. (I now have to try Kanjitomo.)
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.
