This is a long shot but here goes:

I remember reading a series that was about mangaka (maybe) and there was a scene where some assistants(?) were working on a full page spread but messed it up by getting ink (I think) on it. They tried to fix it, but each attempt only made it worse until the whole thing was unrecognizable.

Maybe this was an anime, lol, I'm not sure, but it'd be great l if someone knew what title I'm talking about. Thanks.
