Manhwa and Manga

I just picked up my first manhwa today. I was pleasantly surprised.
A while back, I was...well, let's say I just wasn't very open to the idea of reading non-Japanese comics. I was an idiot, because I realised I missed something very unique. (TBH, though, they didn't start selling Korean manhwa until a few years ago, when I was on hiatus from buying all comics, and I'd just sold my collection for 25$ 🙁 )
I've noticed an interesting thing from what I've read is that Korean comics look a bit more open with the panel layouts that the gazillion mangas that I've read. They don't look the same way, they have a really unique feel to them that makes it entertaining.
Took me a few shots to be able to acclimate myself to reading the 'ol left-to-right format. 🤣
Another interesting thing that I noticed is that there don't seem to be a whole lot of SFX, where manga had a bunch of them, it seems that they're used more sparingly in manhwa. Is this how it usually is?
(So, today, I added 16 mangas and 1 manhwa to my collection, and it only cost me $80...haha)
Btw, the book I picked up was 11th Cat
Aside from announcing that you've opened up to the world of Manhwa, what's the point of this thread?
