I can't even draw a round circle... and I got 90% on my grade 9 art. The grade is thank to us having to also study art history for almost half a course, mixing colour and other style of arts, not just drawing all the time.

I think my stick figure will have one longer arm, one shorter leg hahahahha. I need a ruler.

I guess I can draw average...for my age and how long I've been drawing for... but recently a lot of younger people have been getting better and better at drawing...

I chose #1. Haha.

I don't think I'm really nearly as good as top-mangaka, but I am working professionally as an artist. I started out drawing anime (well, I spent my childhood drawing cats and fairies and unicorns, and then discovered anime in highschool and started drawing that) but I now I do illustrations in my own style. I never could perfectly imitate another artist's/series' style, so I figured it was easier to just do my own thing!

Here is the first book in a kid's book series I'm illustrating, for anyone curious.

Lancha, your art looks great!! Keep it up 😀

@Lagito and Lancha: +100 for your stuff 😀 .
Congrats Lys, I hope it goes well 🙂

As for me...I can draw some stuff, but I need reference, not as in a pic to copy, but a pic to help me do poses and objects, as most of the time the final pic only has whatever I copied in it in common with the pic I used, the rest is my own. But if it's a pose/object I've drawn before, I manage without problems.
I tried starting to draw completely from my own head but...I can never get it properly on the paper <_<.

My drawing isn't bad. I mean, I can draw better than stick figures (haha) but not good enough to be called an actual artist. So I guess I'm average? 😕

While I do know what a pencil is, I've had my stick figures laughed at before. So saying that I can draw them isn't exactly entirely true. I should add that the people laughing at me were children.

Hence why I avoid drawing at all costs. When it comes to artistic stuff, I stick to music. That way, no one's eyes burn from looking at my sad attempts to draw!

I can copy just about anything if I take my time and have the picture in front of me. I can even shrink or enlarge it and keep the proportions correct. I have no ability to create or draw my own characters, however. In the end I'm basically a human copy machine.

@ Spanky, same haha, i can copy any type of art (that's why i'm good at sketching), just as long as it's in front of me.

My greatest skill is sketching and drawing, my second forte is sculpture then painting and photography in black and white, colour doesn't interest me. I love sketching and taking photos of landscape and people (natural photos). I have to say that reading manga helps you with body proportions and movement etc. You don't even need a model if you've analyzed enough artworks to know what looks right and what doesn't. Though if you need to go into detail with shadows and lighting, a model is definitely helpful.

@Lys, congrats, i figured how hard it is to become a pro artist, because there are so many great artists out there, that you kind of lose confidence in yourself. I'm aiming to become a freehand tattooist and going to art college next year and hopefully find a tattooist sensei.

I can copy most of what I see and I also can so a little without a pic in front of me but the finishing result looks horrible if I'm not looking at a pic while drawing. I have no clue about the different pens mangakas use like Gpens and such but it would still be awsome to draw like they do.

Funny. This is the first time I've seen people using the term weaboo at this site.

I chose #3. I do black and white w/ gradients decently but my sense of color sucks and my sense of style is spartan. Personally I hate drawing guys and old women. It has something to do with my habit of imagining what my drawing would look naked before attempting it. Drawing comics more than four panels long makes me lose sanity and hair so I generally don't do so. Detailed settings are my bane.

i suck at drawing period. I used to be able to do still lifes and landscape (with pastels, still my favorite artistic tool) but after trying one after about 5 years of not drawing one I failed miserably.

etto...What's a weaboo? >_< sorry 'I don't really know

At topic, yeah, I can say that I draw pretty well. Actually, I am planning to create my own manga (Yaoi or Shoujo, I'm still choosing) hopefully by this year so that if everything fails, I can retire to my art peacefully >_<

Here's a sample, random, and out-of-the-blue art. I'm not really into scanning my works or so I think this is the only work I have scanned used to a certain forum. Don't judge me yet from this art. I can draw waaay better than this >_< It's just my random drawing

O yeah...basically I'm a shoujo artist and I do yaoi, yuri and ecchi art most of the time. My art style most of the time is compared to CLAMP but then, they may have been my greatest influence unconsciously. I can do pretty well from head to toe, but I have a li'l problem in drawing bare feet.

All I wish for now is to have coloring skills like Lancha's. If I ever have it...whoa. It would be a bliss XD

More artworks (not a random draw) to come
