I think general female otakus are looking for someone who can be an otaku yet still be socially approachable.

I'd love to see a guy otaku my age but unfortunately I don't see one in my area code. It'd be nice to sit down and watch anime with them. The only thing I ask is that they care about the quality of the video and not watch it off of streaming sites like YouTube. -_-

Problem is in finding anyone who knows what manga is... Poles are not especially aware how great manga is, deep sight , and that is quite grave indeed, not one male/female otaku too be found.

they totally should advertise more! billboards or something that way we have some fresh fishies lol

Well here in local otaku community it is quite common to find a lot of otaku couples (where both are otaku)..... nothing suprising about it....

what is this otaku community you people talk about?
....maybe its just nonexistent where i live (arizona) but the only time i have ever even seen manga in print was when i saw some nerdy greasy-haired guy in his late 20's reading at chipotle...

i wouldnt call myself an otaku by any means, but i think it would be extremely interesting to have an otaku/nerdy girlfriend yet i cant seem to find them anywhere.... where are they hiding? seriously

Exactly the reason I have too, I have a lot more guy friends than girls, and no-one I know actually knows I am an otaku because they aren't into the same things as I am (manga/anime), so I tend to keep it on the low.. It's very rare to find an otaku here, even someone who likes manga, and to be honest if anyone did find out I am into this stuff, they would probably accuse me of being a closet pervert (>///<)

It's not that I'm embarrased about being an otaku, it's just they always misunderstand and never listen to me if I explained. ¬¬

Well, I have tried to lead all my friends into becoming otaku, but the only otaku guys I know so far (and I have created them myself!!!) are my cousin and my best friend (and there is NO WAY I'd ever date the latter... he's - otaku or not - too much of a dork and I know him too well anyway).

My current boyfriend isn't an otaku, even though he thinks Saint Seiya is one of the best shows ever, and he watches Dragon Ball (but he has NO idea what a manga actually is!!). Despite my declaring my love for all things Japan, I don't think he's actually understood just how big of an otaku I am, so he says he thinks I'm really cool because it's rare (or so he says) to find a girl who likes watching cartoons and playing video games.

So, yeah... I suppose I'd like it if he shared my love for manga and anime too, but I guess it's alright since it's a hobby I already share with my sister and my friends.

I guess I'm an Otaku.

As for finding an Otaku guy, I have no interest. Hell, I don't even have much of an interest in regular guys.

I guess I wouldn't want one even if I was interested in Otaku guys. Most of them have horrible pimples. >.< I can't STAND pimples. They're disgusting. Besides that, I don't think I'd want a guy who likes Hentai as much as I do... It'd just be wrong. XD

For Gaming, I guess I'm a half-Otaku in that area. Currently I'm addicted to Harvest Moon and World of Warcraft, but the list changes. Yeah... Same for the manga Otaku guys, except gamers don't really read Hentai.

At any rate, Otaku guys would have trouble finding me, seeing as you wouldn't know I've even ever touched a manga, let alone who I am, if you saw me in RL.

While all my close friends and they are not that many and my siblings know that i read manga, watch anime and manga based live action series, but those who doesn't know me well like some of the guys in my office thought that all the mangas i'm downloading and animes i'm watching are porn or hentai. While i'm not into hentai, i'm not against it, but why would they think that way? Maybe because they're bunch of guys who doesn't know anything about manga ? You know what i did? I lend one of my male coworker all of the bleach dvds i have and now he can't wait for the next dvd i'll be buying and bothers me every now and again, where is the next episode cause he can't stand the suspense. 🤣

Well i feel sorry for him cause i haven't had the time to buy one and i just suggested that he go watch it in the internet or just read the manga. I convinced him to try watching it on the net but i can't convince him to read the manga cause he just like watching all the action. Now i hope he might change his opinion that NOT all mangas are porn 🤣

My girlfriend is into manga, but she doesnt have enough time to reach my level... which is fairly high. but at least it impresses her.

She definitely doesnt go out with me because we're both nerds though. after all im a closet nerd, but i think thats more of an added benefit for girls, rather than a deciding factor like it could be for guys.

Edit: Also, I think a girl who reveals her otaku is specifically expecting a boyfriend to NOT come out of it. thats why mostly everyone who is interested in dating will keep it secret until you are good enough friends with them.

If i can choose...I'd pick "I wanna be the nerd and find a cool boyfriend."
B/c in every manga, the nerd got the cool and hot partner... LOL...
