I don't flock to either based on their tags- if anything, I suppose 'avoid' would be accurate. Thing is, I still read both demographics if the story looks interesting enough. I voted on the third one since I tend to read more shoujo-ai... I need to get started on Sasameki Koto again.

Quote from Narufan1st

There's straight shota? o.o

I'm a fujoshi for life , I guess girls are more open minded than guys in general

Not really. If you think about it, it's a fairly obvious and equal balance. If you ask the majority of heterosexual humans, they will be more tolerant of stories featuring romance between two members of the sex opposite them [meaning the sex they themselves find attractive] than a pair of the same sex.

Funnily enough though, homosexual males generally despise yaoi- it's too unrealistic, and not at all what they look for in their H-manga. Thus why the bara category exists. Men are attracted to other men because of their lack of feminine characteristics... so why would a gay guy want to date a feminine male if they idealize bears?

Eh. Suppose it works the same way with lesbians as well, but I don't hear much complaint about the lack of realism in yuri. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough?

I don't like how there's no choice for avoiding one but not the other. I only avoid yaoi but I don't read a lot of yuri either so all of the choices don't really fit. The latter choices should be avoiding x instead of reading a lot of x.

Female, I read both.
I prefer same-sex couples to het.

Just like in real life, I tolerate, but am also disgusted, by homosexual M/M relationships.
I tolerate, and am not digusted, but also not particularly interested, by F/F relationships.

it would have been more accurate if there was one poll per sex. one for girls and one for girls, instead of all in one. just my opinion though. =)

It's the third choice for me. I'm one diehard fujoshi, but I have nothing against yuri/shoujo-ai. Just not my cup of tea, I suppose.

I guess for each gender there is a demographic that likes reading about homosexual couples that are of the opposite sex. For most people, if they are straight themselves, they would probably avoid reading about their own gender in a homo relationship (I feel awkward at least). I have stumbled upon some yuri/shoujo ai (with a nice plot/storyline) that I have enjoyed though...

I'm a girl, and I avoid only yaoi/shounen-ai

I'm a girl and read both but good yuri that isn't just schoolgirl lesbians or smut is hard to find. /sobs

I would like a poll to see how this correlates to sexuality but I think the amount of sexual choices [I'm bi/het/homo/omni/pan/asex/attracted to puddles of liquid and read yuri/het/yaoi/no romance and I'm a boy/girl/magical furry] may just break the poll....
