So I'm thinking of starting my driving lessons now (a bit late cos my 17th birthday was during the exams =.=) cos I'll need to drive when i go to uni next year anyway.

But then if I started weekly lessons now, it'd take over a year before I'll get my license cos I'll need to stop my weekly lessons when I have my exams in Jan and June again so then I won't be able to drive before uni. And that's where the idea of a crash course came up.

It would be perfect for me since it's nearly the hols now so I'll have a few weeks completely wide open. There's a course where it's 6 hours a day for 48 hours that is for complete beginners so I'm thinking of going for that. I'm not scared of hard work, I can be pretty hardcore when I want to 😛 Does anyone here have any experience in crash courses?

I'm concerned about the pass rate, like are they decent? I'm not fussed about passing the VERY first time, but I just want to know if you'll actually learn anything in such a small space of time?

Well, I don't know where you live and if your state driving laws differ from my state, but here in NJ, you take the lessons(my driving school had 2hr lessons for 3 days) then have at least 6 months of practice afterwards. The lessons are pretty basic and you can learn everything in that alotted time, but from my experience, I learned/retained a lot more from the actual practice.

But hey, I failed the first two times. The first, because a string of bad luck with the car I had to test on(it died the moment I had to leave my house for the test x__x), and the second, because I was just stupid. Most of my friends got it in their first try though.

The only thing I have to say about a crash course if you've never driven a car before, driving 6 hours a day will kill your left leg or whatever leg uses the clutch (that is assuming that you're going to drive a manual car)

Hell I could barely do 2 hours without it hurting, especially when you first begin because you're not used to it and you don't know how much pressure to exert and stuff. God help you if you get stuck in traffic XD
I myself never bothered with a crash course. I took it slow. Yeah it took me a while but that's because I was lazy and I didn't do my theory until much much later. I was ready for my test, but I couldn't take it because I hadn't taken my theory test 🤣

It won't take you a year to pass, even if you take breaks. I can't see why you can't continue during your exams though. Like, a 2 hour lesson a week, just to keep you fresh. I did that. It was nice. I had a break from revising and could get out of the house.
