I do this too.
I just usually listen to whatever happens to be playing. On rare occasions, like when I'm re-reading a series that I really like, I would create a playlist that [I think] is appropriate.

Ah I definitely agree with this, I also remember certain manga that I've read when I listen to the song/s that I heard when reading it. Normally the songs that I associate with the manga are the ones that I listened to while something important was going on in the plot line.
Now whenever I hear 爱在西元前 (Ai Zai Xi Yuan Qian/Love Before the Century) by Jay Chou I think of the time in Junjou Romantica when Nowaki and Hiroki were to meet in front of the family restaurant...it was rather early in the manga if I remember correctly.
I listen to music while reading manga a lot of the time but it normally doesn't distract me from it though, I normally listen to Japanese music when reading manga.
i try to listen to the soundtrack of whatever im reading if there is one. otherwise, i default listen to folk/gothic metal
but manga and music is a potent combo

If the manga has an anime adaptation and if this anime has an awesome soundtrack...then I'll listen to the anime soundtrack while reading the manga of the anime.

I've been listening to Get Backers OST - Ichibyou no Refrain non-stop while reading One Piece. Surprisingly it fits each other perfectly (for me) 😀

I do this alot too. Depending on the Manga I am reading is the type or music I use. For Ubell Blatt, I use Berserk's opening song "Forces" or its PS2 Opening, For franken fran, Castlevania, it varies.
i listen to the music that seems appropriate to the manga.like for example, i listened to halo by beyonce while reading socrates in love because it matched the mood. both very emotional. 😃

Music makes manga reading faster and can some times add to its affect but if i have the wrong tone in the music it can really take away from the manga

I just switch to internet radio (Shoutcast.com) and turn on any anime/j-pop channel.
The radio does it all for me 🙂

Never. I can't focus on the manga if there's something distracting me. Nor can I read books, for that matter.
