but singapore's education is one of the best in the world
my brother was chosen for an australian international exam(forgot its name) they chose random students from every country and made them sit for an exam without preparing to compare all countries' average student performance and singapore was number 1! you should be proud!
and the NUoS is ranked 6th on the list of best universities in asiaSurely best it may be. But I still think that it really sucks to live in a country that favors foreigners more than their own citizens. Our PM even said that Singapore as very limited talent pool and we need the foreigners. It is too much, and they even recruit ridiculous people into their political party[Tin Pei Ling]. Just proves to show how short sighted they are. Speaking about education, IMO, i think western countries way of teachings are far more better than Singapore. Because in our schools, we are often spoonfed, and when we finally approach the working world, one whole lot of things are totally different from what we learnt. So yea.. 😐
Lady, I think you described most Asian countries here. I can personally attest to India falling into that description very well, others not so much.
There are times when you will miss what you never had. I wonder how you will find what you so desperately need.

i dont think you should have added the stuff after yes, no, and maybe. some people dont care about how a gov. helps its citizens. there is no anarchist option either.

Shouldn't it be "Do you like your country's government?" instead of 'love'.
I think very few people would actually go so far as to love their government (it's also not the job of a government to be 'loved'), I mean: "Do you love your company's management?" (which is the same thing) just sounds weird.
Also in many countries the government changes every few years (or at least some parties are rotated). Whilst I may agree with some policies of my current government, big chance these will change in a short time...
Most I think, at least around here, would only go so far as to tolerate... Maybe accept and a few would maybe endorse. Most likely not outright hate or disapprove a government completely (depends on how corrupt it is).
On one side there's nothing wrong with it, a government should act on what is best for the country as a whole in such a way that the 'happiness' of it's inhabitants is sustained or increased... Not just that of few (rich/powerful). (though views on this may differ depending on culture)... Happiness being more than just jolly.
And sadly, you can't please everyone. Trying to do so will most likely please none.

There's no point in loving or hating a conception.
Focus one's attention on the conceivers.
Yet people regularly die for the conception of God (not saying he exists or doesn't exist, just saying that people do), and people die regularly for the conception of their country and their perceived conception of the virtues of that nation.
People kill because they are told to by concievers. Dying is just a natural by-product of killing.
Yet, there is no point to loving or hating a conception. It does no harm, as it is literally incapable of doing so. Conceivers and their followers on the other hand can.
Quote from funkmu1
You focus your attention on the conceivers because you love the conception and are willing to defend it against changes by different concievers.
Me? or is this the you (general)?
Me: I don't love the conception. I'm indifferent towards it. I focus my attention on the concievers because they physically exist... you know... in the real world.

I'm in the US...IMO there are a lot of good things built into the basic structure of our government, but (obviously!) it's not perfect. The two party system is currently a disaster; of course it's easier to complain than to fix it and I don't really know what should be done.
From my own experiences - primarily small-town living - we have a lot of freedoms and a lot of benefits guaranteed by our government. I don't know of a better system, but I'm no expert on governments.

Lol when i saw the title ,i told my self wtf!
Seriously in my country (greece) i really dont where to begin
1)every1 has to pay his military service after he turns 18 and it has duration of 9 months(8.60 euro per month~8 dollars)
2)Every politician can get a retirement after 4 years and he gets double the maximum per month
3)Every politician is corrupt.I really dont know where to start. But if criminal is a politician ,for him to go to jail he has to meet 2 requirements.First his fellows in the parlament have to vote if his immunity should be taken away and second if it happens(.....) and he is accused 2+ years after the thing he did he is automatically innocent.Justice....
Even the last prime minister had nearly all his crew connected with economic crimes for millions but no1 has ever been to the court.Especially the prime minister as fas i know has to illegal houses in a freaking forest which is illegal in that area to even build!
4)You can not fire a civil servant(!)
I can find million other things that they do to collect more votes especially right before the national voting for the next goverment(massive hiring etc)
But what can i say ,its our fault that we have these dumbases to represent us

Everyone seem to hate their country's government. Mine being one of the top "Evil Military Government" type. I am actually surprise at American citizens that hate their government. They should come and live with ours for a month or two lol...they will be showing white flags in a few day XD

i don't like my goverment
i know they are trying to get us out of debt, but turfing old folks out of their nursing homes while you get some illegal immigrants living in multi-million pound homes claiming benifits. it is messed up.
and now the riots which have spread over england doesnt really give us much hope...
i suppose it could be worse
at least we have the National Healthcare Service..

I don't hate it and I am grateful for what freedoms and rights I do have here, but it could always be better. I think things like social security, education, medical care, crime rates, immigration, equal rights, and poverty could be handled better and that they are problems in my country that need to be addressed, but overall I get the feeling the government is trying to get people "some" help and is working to make things somewhat better here.
From the United states BTW.

Do i love canada? I don't love it, but sure i like it alot, i wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
Do i like our government? no.
i know you guys are talking about the leader of your country, but in Toronto, the mayer put up a new law that says you cant text or be on your phone while you drive, and about 2 weeks ago he was on his cellphone driving and a woman asked him to set an example for the people, and he gave her the finger.

Meh. Not really. My country is ok. I don't really care about the goverment, because they don't do anything much... but I'm ok with the enviroment. It's peaceful...

Love? I think loving it would be extreme. In my case I don't particularly like or hate it. It's there, there are stuff that is bothering me and there are some stuff that I acknowledge is ok, that is all.
