I came through Baka-Updates. I've always liked that site for downloading anime episodes. One day i randomly decided to click on where it said "Manga-Updates". I was impressed with what I found.

I was googling for a title when one of the search results pointed here

Surfed a bit here and there, found that there are a few titles that's licensed in my country isn't listed here, but I think this is the coolest manga database site so I registered and stay.

I made the releases page as my homepage 😀

I used to have a shitload of bookmarks to links to find manga. Most of them are dead now btw. Anyway, I was on animewaves, back before Del Rey snatched up most of their scanlations, and I clicked on the link from there to here. Or maybe it was one of the other hundred or so sites I used to visit to get my manga. I didn't actually join here until about a year ago.

Sarcasm just doesn't work over the internet.

I was looking for some scanlations, came here and I used to keep track of my manga using Word but this is so much more convenient plus it makes it so much easier to find new manga to read, so I stayed.

it was baka-updates. I confused the two, and thought they were the same. But discovered one was for anime, and the other was for manga a few hours later. But i'm glad i was confused, or i wouldn't of found it. ^_^

Back then I didn't know you could read manga online, and I was a internet newb. So I read manga (Naruto) through Youtube, and a fellow viewer was advertising the site I guess. O_O? Anyway, soon learned you couldn't dl manga here >.> lurked around for a few months just for those news posts. Registered about 3 years later. XDD

I found it through Google while I was looking for download sites.

I'm the sort of person that reads FAQs though, so I knew this wasn't a download site when I joined.

As for why I stayed, I like being able to find new (especially unlicensed) series and keep up with releases and what I've completed, and eventually I really liked talking in the forums, and I'm not usually a forum person - I'm usually a lurker for the most part.

If you've ever thought or said "Nice Guys finish last" and really meant it, then you should probably read this LJ post by DivaLion. It's incredibly insightful whether you're male or female.
