Just like me! I know and watch detektive conan since i learned how to use the tv and the clock and now i can find the solution of a crime in a unknown episode faster than conan xD (i skipped lots of episodes when i was little) 🤣

You know you are Otaku when....
you can identify a manga you never seen before and tell who is the mangaka by just seeing her/his artstyles,
if you decide to study japanese because you want to read raw manga
or if you learn to draw manga-likes or make your own manga,
you start think and act like a manga character,
you hate when someone disturbs you while reading a manga,
you buy any merchandise related to anime/manga,
you sing anime OST/EST, Jpop/Jrock, and make it a ringtone for your mobile phone,
you read more than 1000 manga titles...,
you know you can't quit of loving manga/anime.

You know you are otaku when...
- repeating or quoting a manga/anime line....
- put manga/anime chara name as an example for your short-story homework or in literature class
- one of ur fav manga/anime chara died, you cry hard at class and have a very bad mood for a whole week.
- watch tv only to watch anime
- you go to the bookstore, straight to the manga section.
- memorize the schedule of manga release every day/week/month
- ask your aunt/uncle/mom/dad/cousin who just get a baby to named him Lelouch or her Euphemia.
[this make me felt as being otaku........., my experience tho']

you think of a demon everytime you hear the word butler
you get exicted when you visit a place you saw in an anime or manga
you suddely like school uniforms
you aren´t shocked despite what freaky things happend
you notice that some people aren´t rude but tsundere
you smile while threatening a person
you want to become the "best [insert something] of the world
you start to think of little girls as loli
your english starts to get weird and you say "good morning everynya~" as greeting

you really shouldnt be happy being an otaku its not a badge of honor or anything it means that you are essentially a social retard. Nothing wrong with being a fan of something but when it becomes an obsession you are doing something wrong

don´t think otaku=hikikomori
i have a (mostly) normal live (as far as it can be normal with all those illnesses i have), have friends and a BF. I go to parties like a normal teenager, i use the phone for hpurs like a normal teenager and i care very much about my interest as a teenager. Manga & Anime
Otaku have a society on their own apart from RL where we are social active, too (like this forum). And those who are shut-ins or have no friends have their reasons for it.
Obessesions are normal for humans and better to be an anime & manga otaku (or an otaku of something else) than being a pedo or something like that
And please don´t insult is in the forums 😔

read the things you quote carefully. the word obssesed was clearly menitoned.and you DO look down on millions of people calling is social retards without knowing us all. You can´t say all Otaku are as you say. You just tell some prejudice without giving reasons.
And what about the many pros in the world? Don´t you think a star-baseballer is also obsessed with his sport? Obsessions make people to go beyond boarders and having fun. People who say being obsessed is bad don´t know the joy of having an interest which completly fills their soul.

The difference between a professional (in any field not just sports) and someone who reads too much manga is that one of them is showing discipline and actually achieving something of merit. For example im in biological research so to a certain extent I have to obsess over certain things but what im doing actually has positive outcomes. As I say enjoying different arts isnt a bad thing but if you get to the point that it defines you as a person then im sorry but something is wrong.

Without obsessed people you can't enjoy music, art's, movies, sports, computer games. You had no technological evolution.
Tell me, Van Gogh, Mozart, Einstein, members of any music band, singers, athletes aren't they obsessed? Writer's like Tolkien, who created an entire universe alone, and Robert E. Howard, what is the difference between them and the otakus? They all found something that they like and what with they want to experience. I hate this world, it's dull, blind, ignorant, false, hate the people because they "live" like zombies. And i am grateful to those people who creates a window for me to an another world, where i can enjoy myself for a moment.
