I've stop denying it.

You know you are otaku or borderline if you

— Recognize the voice actors from various anime
— Name the manga after watching the Drama version [If they are named differently]
— Crave REAL ramen
— Use [Insert Asian language] phrases / curse words in your daily dialog
— Sing the opening and closing theme to your favorite anime 😁
— If you know what reverse harem means
— Check for a release every 15 minutes or less
— Watch/read your favorite completed anime/manga series more than twice a month

Any more to add to the list?

wew

I wouldn't say so. Lots of people do that for books and movies.

I hope that this isn't true! Being an otaku is an insult in Japan! This tool is just convenient for people who don't want to pay for anything/want to keep track easily.

This is true and yes, otaku is to lock-up in one's home. 🙂

Wellllllllll...you don't have to be an anime otaku............

"You know you are otaku when..."

  • Most of your analogies are based off anime or manga.

  • You try lame video games based off you favorite anime or manga.

  • You try good video games based off you favorite anime or manga.

I don't fill any of these holes either! >.<
One is otaku when one can tell what is cartoon and what anime, what comic and what manga and like them as individuals, not just in stack.

i know wat ar u mean so tats why i didnt want to be otaku like the one i categorized there. if we become like tat, we intend to be like hikikomori
for me the good way for otaku is:

  • take good thing on anime and throw off the bad thing on anime, tats all

My friend on exchanged from Japan this year to America told me that the most current slang for otaku to say is "moe" whenever they see something cute or something they like. And now teenage girls say it too in order to make fun of them. 🤣

I'm not sure if I'm an Otaku, nor if I want to be called that. I own about 220 volumes of manga/manhwa, I've watched anime on and off since the early 90s, and....dang...

You know you are otaku or borderline if

— Your ringtone is from an anime [I'm guilty of that one - Motteke! Sailor Fuku]
— Played the opening or ending song of your favorite anime until you have phonetically memorized all the lyrics even though you don't speak the language. [Guilty - Shiki No Uta]

I barely thought of this this morning..

You know you are an otaku when you practically throw a fit/correct someone when they pronounce an anime/manga term/name wrong 🤣 (I do this all the time 😛 )

-when you finish school or work and think about what anime/manga you will watch/read at home

-knowing that when you get home your going on the computer to watch or read anime/manga

-always mention anime and manga to japanese students

-look for people who look like anime

-go on M.U everyday to search for new releases to read

-automatically know the song to the anime

😁
