Ok, so just read the newest chapter. What a cliffhanger!

At the end, after Rea's dad stabbed Fukuruya, Rea comes in and yells out Fukuruya's name. Suddenly, he headbuts the father's head and then he... Got into a fighting stance while having the fencing thing stuck in him... Is he a zombie? Or maybe he's one of those protagonists with supernatural strength.

I think he decided to drink the potion as well after seeing that it worked. Wouldn't that be interesting if they were both zombies?

If you look back at chapter 4, Rea kissed Chihiro on the lips, and in chapter 5, he realized that she actually bit him in the lips. She's a zombie now, so that is possible...

Wow, if they're both zombies then that means that he has to take care of both Rea and himself, while trying to find a permanent fix.

OR maybe there's something else we don't know about. Like, he never bled, and he woke up half a second after getting stabbed.

You guys do have a point when she bit/kissed him, I think that's what could've transmitted the fluid. Crazy how only 8 chapters in and we have 2(or 1, we wont know till next time) main characters dead... then undead.

I don't really think you can become a zombie by being bit like in the movies. It seems to become a zombie you have to drink the potion then die or vice versa so the potion is the zombie maker. In the movies it's always a supernatural event or some kind of virus. If it's one of those then even a bite wouldn't turn you, just dieing would do it. But since this needs a potion then I don't think the little amount of the potion you'd get from a bite would actually be enough to turn you.

Besides the last page of the chapter it looked like he turned into a cat. He had whiskers, the eyes, and ears. Not to mention the teeth.

What is he?

Maybe he's one of those protagonists that gets these crazy powers after he or a loved one gets injured. i.e. AyuMayu, the Protagonist gt superhuman strength when his sisters were in danger.

Or maybe he just drank the potion offscreen, out of curiosity. Then, in Chapter 9, we get to see his flashback of him drinking the potion.

Or perhaps its just something that we don't even know about. This manga is released bi-weekly, right?

Doesn't he (from the begining) have some zombie blood by his grandfather ? and does the biting/kissing would have actived that blood ? (I'm french so sorry for my poor english !)

Anyways, I found this chapter to be pretty interesting. Haha, I guess what they say about brains beating brawn is true. Get owned Rea's creepy dad!

OMFG CAN SOME1 MOTHEREFFIN KILL OFF THE DAD?! i want to see that freaking lolicon-ugly-stupid-thickheaded-perverted-daughter complexed-motherf""" dead, but first i want Furuya to beat him to a pulp, then Rea to say "i hate you, you pervert" then kiss Furuya and say "i love you ur so handsome!" then glitters around....

anywho... i think that he made himself a special batch for himself after it worked on Rea, but hey, who knos, only the mangaka, for now..... and i think it showed him like a cat due to the fact that the mangaka drew him alike a cat in many ways: his hair, his damn eyes(hecka slanted, no not tryin to be racist here, im asian too) and his figure... but thats what i think, it would be cool if he turned into a superhero like catgirl but as a guy, lol...

i just hope Furuya wins Rea.... -_- ... and makes the dad realized his "insert insults/swears here" behavior and personality.........and then accepts Furuya. whoa that took a load off my mind

Nah, I think he has some sort of main protagonist WTF power going on. It seems less plausable than Rea biting him and turning him into a zombie but who knows it just seems like this manga is hinting him going into that direction with his cat like appearances the whole time. Also this manga is really awesome with its sad setting being veiled with its comedy hope this manga doesn't show Rea going down hill and fully turn into a zombie and ending this manga with a sad farewell too original for my tastes xp
