I've got a problem here, I really cant find anywhere of how the storyline of "Dark Messiah Might & Magic" and the "Heroes of Might & Magic" series have it's conection.

Is it after the Storyline of Homm5 (Heroes of Might & Magic V) that Serath comes into action, and if is there any set storyline for what happens? (even though you're given multiple choices of how to end it).

Since the Prophecy of the Demon Messiah given by Sar-Shazzar is in the Heroes of Might & Magic storyline along with charaters like Arantir and Duncan.

Or is "Dark Messiah Might & Magic" considered an alternative story or a side story?

You should play the HoMM 5 stand-alone expansion Tribes of the East. The connections will become clear as you are playing Arantir in the necromancer campaign.
