Hey, thanks to a new friend i can post this topic. :]
my question is
is Psyrens originality convincing to you. i liked it at first and still think its okay, but i notice alot of things in it that just don't seem original.
-
Yoshina Ageha acts and looks like ichigo from bleach.
-
the idea of being teleported along with random other people to the future to face monsters and given extra ability reminds me of gantz.
-
the countdown usage on there card also reminds me of how gantz had points to get out as well.
-
oboro in my eyes is kurama from yu yu hakusho.
5.the captains from psyren W.I.S.E that are ranked by number are dressed in white alfits and live in a tower. that reminds me exactly of bleach.
well tell me what you think. i just want to see if anyone agrees with me.
however i do greatly appreciate all manga artist!
why because i am the president of the student council of course

Similiarities yes, undeniably. But if you break a manga down into it's different counterparts then i'm sure you could relate each and every aspect of a manga to a different manga.
Very few would therefore be considered "original"
In my opinion i think you should just base a manga on it's merits. If it's a good manga that seems to have similiarities to another, whether the mangaka deliberately ripped them off or not, is inconsequential so long as i enjoy the manga 🙂
I enjoy Psyren, so whether the mangaka just pieced together the idea's from different mangas, i don't mind.

It's just like you think... its hard to find something Original lately and when u do find one it lacks somestuff and ends up copying some long running series because they think(the editors) that will make the series get more readers. You have to remember the work not allways go as the mangaka envisioned but the company publishing it may try to change some stuffs.
All manga falls into sub-genres like shounen, shoujo, seinen, etc.
Regardless of how original any shounen can get, in the end it will still be about a young brave protagonist who saves the weak/world etc...
Catch the drift? For any manga to be completely original it would have to invent it's own sub-genre. Every work has it's inspiration and similarities to other works. If you haven't realized that then, no one can help you.
Even really original manga such as Death Note has some similarities to other manga. It is a manga that has genius detectives in it after all... even if the plot is different from other manga with genius detectives you can see the parallels there...

besides, as you have listed many sources as to question the originality, the same can be said about virtually every manga

i understand and agree with you but
i wish if these manga artist are gonna put out a work intending for it to be a hit.
i wish at least they could tweak the charecters personalities thats all.
like i'm an up and coming manga artist and ive been writing drawing creating for years but i have learned to modify my charecters with something new so that the charecters will seem new to the audience as well as getting the audience attached.
in this case i see psyren as pretty okay and creative but it just isn't convincing original quality.
like if i were to go into detail to compair other hits.
Katekyo hitman reborn- tsuna stood out by his shy and unconfident personality.
One piece - luffy stood out with his loud mouth
bleach- ichigo stood with his uneasy personality
but Ageha from psyren just seems too cliche.
and looking at there faces they look exactly alike

Yes, because there have been no other shy and unconfident protagonists, or loud mouthed protagonists, or "uneasy personalities". And please don't tell me you just used the 'look alike' argument in regards to manga.. Go read more manga. Just because you read it first doesn't mean it's the original one, or that it's unique.
Psyren is by no means original, but the same goes for every other one you listed. In fact, the only thing remotely unique about Katekyo Hitman Reborn is the character Reborn. Everything else is pretty rehashed from other manga. Does that make it bad? Nah, it's one of the better shounen.
Originality is hard to find, and when you do find it, you'll find it won't last long. That is, unless it's original in a bad way. I could go and make a cartoon about a turd that could talk... It'd likely be unique and original, but that doesn't mean it's good.
Oh wait, South Park did that. [And there's some european show as well.]

and yes i agree with you alot trust me and i have read millions of manga. u can ask me about any manga i'm sure ive read at least a chapter of it b4.
well i guess what really gets to me about this manga is the fact that every other manga has a main charecter with at least one trait that sticks out about them to make it at least that much original.
but i can't find one single trait about ageha yoshina that sticks out about him. if you can help me find one trait about him that sticks out than i will forfit and let this topic go.
why because i am the president of the student council of course

While it's nice that you noticed manga borrow from eachother, it's rather redundant to say so on MU... I'm sure this general topic has come up before, about origniality of other manga, but the discussion is always the same.
What about other shonen battle manga protagonist's is unique that Ageha lacks? Particularily Ichigo and Yusuke (you've mentioned Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho characters in your post).
Can you imagine an imaginary menagerie manager imagining managing an imaginary menagerie?

Yeah, good luck finding any "original" shounen mangas. In fact, if you think Bleach or Gantz is original in both plot and character archetypes. Think again.

well i'm going to modify the topic because i do agree with alot of the things everyone is saying and i might get no where unless i do change it.
psyren does have its originality
(A calling card that transfers you to the future where the world is in ruins)
+but the only thing that doesn't settle right with me is+
----Ageha Yoshina the main charecter does not seem to have 1 charecteristic about him that i can point out that is the slightest different in order to seperate him from the group or make him interesting----
why because i am the president of the student council of course

I think you are reading too much Bleach. ALL Shonen manga have similarities to others, Naruto=Dragonball, Bleach=Yu Yu Hakusho

well what everybody is trying to say is that authors/mangaka take things from other manga because they liked the idea and think it'll make thier own story better. and this doesnt take place only with manga like
games: anymore apocalyptic games anyone
books: do you guys realize all the similarities the harry potter series had with LOTR
tv shows: Disney has abused the teen idol thing way to much.
well the point is manga will always have certain allusion to other previous work
