Alright, in order to pass the time, I figure something like an AOTM is a good idea.

Basically, what it is is that a member, chosen in advance, chooses an whatever album he or she so chooses, and makes a review.

Anyone interested? Should this idea fall into obscurity? Let me know 😮

I like it, but the members that post frequently in the music section might leave us with only a few to choose from.

Plus writing a review might be troublesome, so that should be optional with only a sentence or two needed normally.

How about instead of having a "chosen" member review an album, anyone can. Of course it has to be precise, expressing likes and dislikes, and analyze it musically, not just objectively. Otherwise, the post will be deleted.

It doesn't have to analyze every song, maybe a couple that will be a good reference to the argument.

I think it's a good idea and will give people insights on different albums/artists.

Not many people may like to do this though and the thread may end up dormant. And one can argue that it's sort similar to the music suggestion thread, but it's really not. 😐

I like Aotm. It is a good Idea, but there are so few music forum regulars.

I like the idea. Always open to share & receive something new. But there must be also some efficient factor, folk's comments. I've already participated in such thread and it would really fall into obscurity without any response.

So, no one interested? This sounds like a good idea to me, but I think the reviews shouldn't be so detailed. I guess two or three sentences about each song and an overall impression would be enough.

Also, why few albums with a big review rather than more albums with a short impression? Let it be album of the week! I doubt people could discuss much on the reviews, seeing as most of us here have such different tastes. But we could still get an insight over albums in a genre some of us might know next to nothing about.
