The official website for Oh! great's Air Gear racing tournament manga has announced that the 31st manga volume will ship in a limited edition with a new anime DVD on March 17, 2011.

The DVD will contain "Trick 2" (episode 2) of the Air Gear: Kuro no Hane to Nemuri no Mori -Break on the Sky- (Air Gear: The Black Wings and the Sleeping Forest -Break on the Sky-) anime project. In particular, it will contain the "legendary" battle between the Kogarasumaru team and the first Sleeping Forest team from the 24th and 25th manga volumes. The manga's first bundled anime DVD will be included with the 30th manga volume on November 17.

The official website has posted the staff and cast lists for the second anime DVD, additional character designs, and comments from the cast about the second anime DVD.

The manga creator "Oh! great" (Ōgure-Ito) launched his Air Gear manga series in Weekly Shonen Magazine in 2002. Del Rey published the manga's 15th, 16th, and 17th volumes in one combined bumper volume in North America in August. ADV Films had once released Toei's 2006 television anime version of Air Gear in North America, and Funimation has released this earlier anime on DVD and on the web.
