CHAPTER 75! Say hello to the bad ass Kaneki. I have been waiting for something like this since the beginning.

Badass, but crazy. Also he seems to have gotten rather sadistic. This whole badass thing could turn into a downside on Kanekis character, just saying.

eh, from what I've seen (I couldn't resist and went for the raws) he's just badass and sadistic to his enemies, for his friends and allies his still his charming old self.

Of course, since I know absolutely zero japanese, I could be completely wrong and he's just been threatening everyone with an innocent smile on his face while acting all nice and brotherly with hinami-chan but... who knows?

I'm not sure I'd call him a bad-ass quite yet. (though I have a rather high standard for badass). Getting physically tortured and then snapping somehow leaves me feeling like somethings missing. I dunno, it feels a little cheap. I mean sure he's become strong but I still get more of a badass vibe from Touka, even if she may not be as strong. I dunno, is it quality of angst? Perhaps my standards are a bit too high.

But I guess it was only a matter of time before the story couldn't go on with such a docile protagonist. He can't be whiner the whole series.

He didn´t snap but finally became interesting. Now we only need a property developed female lead. The manga can then fully live up to it´s initial potential. Here is hoping.
