As the name would suggest, the gender-flipped version of cute girls doing cute things (CGDCT).
By which I mean: wholesome go nowhere fluff slice of life with a cast of guys. Or as close to it as possible.
Sports anime doesn't really cover this as it's typically more competitive.
BL is typically romance-focused and doesn't often have the "group of friends" dynamic.
There are a few comedy slice of life series that come close, but don't really manage the wholesome/endearing thing.
So question is- does this pseudo-genre exist (for guys)?
I'd be interested to read any titles that think might come under what I'm looking for.

Boku no Tonari ni Ankoku Hakaishin ga Imasu came to mind as it's not quite an out and out comedy, so it's more fluffier. How wholesome it is I suppose depends on personal preference. So.... maybe? Hopefully?

Who knew there was such a shortage for this type of manga! Anyway, these sound like CBDCT but I feel they're not quite it.
Danshi Koukousei no Nichijou I suppose this is what you meant by "comedy slice of life series that come close..." but if not, I would recommend the anime too.
Kimi to Boku. Not sure if there being a girl would ruin things for you, but this one is pretty wholesome.
Same for Flat (AOGIRI Natsu) MC has friends-that-are-boys and they feature in chapters but it's mainly about the MC and his little cousin bonding over baking lol
Gakuen Babysitters Seems to fit the bill, though I haven't actually read this one.
Cool Doji Danshi Pretty new but still on-going!

Danshi Koukousei wa Kyou mo Onaka ga Suiteiru is the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that fits perfectly that hasn't been mentioned yet.
Clamp School Detectives might also sort of fit?
Shounen Maid maybe. This one certainly involves (1) cute boy doing cute things.
And Setsuna Graffiti can kind of be reduced to "cute boys do fireworks", I guess.
In general, I found that searching Female Demographic with Male Lead + slice-of-life actually gave quite a bit of interesting options, so you might want to try that as well.

- Muchuu sa, Kimi ni.: this one's really good, very mildly BL
- Kemono-Human School: this is like the counterpart of all those monstergirl manga (this goes all-in to furry though, evidently the mangaka has really thought through in detail the intricacies of monsterboy anatomy)
- Cool Doji Danshi: seconding this

I think Otomen might fit your description as well. Asuka is a guy who has likings for girly things like shoujo manga, baking, and sewing. However, his mother forbids this and wants him to grow up manly. He starts learning kendo and karate and grows up to be the stoic guy his mother wants him to be.
