if I love the manga ka I will read whatever she has written, including her free talks. otherwise I don't bother that much. some times I am glancing over free talks if I love the story as well.
...
No, I don't really care for the mangaka.
I like his/her works, not him/her.

This, really.
For some reason if I get to know the manga, then it also detracts a bit from the manga. It makes it a bit less 'real'. I want to completely get into the manga, as if it were a complete seperate world from ours.
I'm weird. 🤣

Occasionally, if it pertains to the story I'll most likely read it, if otherwise then no.

Same here!
I remember reading a few though... some were somewhat funny I guess; they probably come in 'genres' too 😀
I do! usually they're pretty.....interesting to say the least ^^; my fav so far is about the three little drunk men that ran around the mangaka's teacup or something in Dengeki daisy XD
an is it just me or do some of them make no sense at all? @_@

So nope, I dont read the mangaka's freetalks...
Hell yeah I do! That's the reason I dislike scan groups that don't translate freetalks. (BTW, I didn't even know there was a word for them until I saw this thread 😛 )

I always read the first couple when I start a manga, then I either ignore them if their boring or continue reading them if they're funny. Sometimes the freetalks are more interesting than the actual manga 🤣

I do read them, unless I'm tired & the print is really hard to read. 🤢
Even then, I'll try, but if nothing catches my interest then I give up. At 1:00 am, it's not worth struggling to read small/blurry/odd font to find out what video games the mangaka's been playing...

I used to but scanlators sometimes don't translate that part so I stopped noticing if they do. So I just completely ignore the freetalk sections now.
They were fun though. I got to know random fun facts about the manga or the mangaka. 😀
