What did you think Vampire Knight was going to be about before reading?

My idea was that Yuki and Zero were vampires

from the start and were protectors of the Night Class' secret. Then a human finds out that makes everything complicated and...that's all I got to before I began reading. It was a silly idea.

These were the first pictures I saw of Vampire Knight that brought up this idea:

That was when I thought "Oh they're all vampires".

I was actually right 🤣

"Oh! A vampire manga"
It was indeed a vampire manga.

On a more serious note...
I don't remember what I thought, but I hoped I would enjoy it...
That Yuki won't be such a sissy and will be friends with vampires or something...

I started reading this when i was like 14 or something like that. when they was like 7 chapters and no one was scaning it like they do now. It was a time when I was just getting interested in some shojo manga and after I read hana yori dango and Ayashi no Ceres and was bored one day when I just read it and thought it was ok till the next chapter and me and vk's relation has never been the same

I started reading it after Yuki found out Zero wants some blood, so I think it was this one bathroom scene that I first saw, and I thought it was going to be a smut manga and pure vampire nonsense. I was right about the vampire nonsense part.

First chapter I have read was when Kaname changed Yuuki....and then I thought "Hmmm" so I took it from the start. I like it, only thing that annoys me is a love triangle. I absolutely loathe love triangles...

I actually started reading the English publications first (out up to vol 5 at that point). My initial impression would have come straight from the synopsis on the back of the tank. I just knew it was about vampires, but I didn't have a pre-conceived notion about the heroine being vampire or not.

I thought it would be something dark and scary. I was right about it being dramatic though, but I wouldn't have guessed the heroine would be a vampire.
