I wonder how they will choose the team since there is so much people for the same position, maybe an offensive formation and an deffensive one or something. The name "Armadillos" sounds familiar...

This chapter went from insulting America to blessing America, to wanting to crush America. Bipolar much? 😕
And I REALLY don't like Morgan. I'm guessing that he's supposed to be a parody of Chad Johnson and Terrell Owens, but it came off as a bit stereotypical to me. Actually, some of the things Riichiro Inagaki and Yusuke Murata have done in Eyeshield 21 that didn't involve Japanese people seemed kinda stereotypical. Just look at the bottom left hand corner of that globe panel on page 24 of Chapter 53. Mind you, it's not that insulting to me because I don't look or act like that, and there have been more obvious stereotypes in manga cough Mr. Popo cough But it still disturbs me a bit.
Oh, and Agon is going to go to the American team. Why? Because Agon isn't a person that believes in "Pride For One's Country", and because right now the World Cup just seems like an ego battle between America and Japan. When Agon defects, that's when the Japan team will have a somewhat solid reason to beat America other than "I'll be the best in the world, just because there's someone else that's as good as me!"
And I hope that other countries will be participating in this World Cup. If it's just America and Japan, then calling it "American Football World Cup" would be stupid.

Football in Japanese is referred to as "Ame futo" short for American Football. I don't know if it was translated the way because of that or if that's what it's actually called, but that could be the reason.
That said I loved Hiruma in the maid outfit and Panther's reaction to seeing him. 🤣

well i agree with you somewhat on the stereotype thing, when it came to Morgan, but then we also have Panther. who's actually one outstanding black character, out of the few we ever see when it comes to mangas. he's honest to goodness nice guy and over all good person, Inagaki and Murata made him into a really well done character, that isn't stereotypical at all. unless you wanna count his cornrows. 😛 🤣

🤣 I don't think that his cornrows would be stereotypical. But everything else you said are the exact reasons why I have Panther as my avatar. 😎

the more i think about the more i realize Panther is actually one of a kind too. 😛 a lot of black characters that i've seen pop up either had a stereotype to them but had his attitude, or looked liked him but were just jerks. he's the first, i think, that mixed the good side of both.
