As in, what does it mean? Unrequited love is a repeated motif throughout the manga, from the protagonist's unrequited love with the girl in the library, to the cafeteria lady's unrequited request to have sex with the protagonist, to the most obvious (spoiler) moment of unrequited love wherein the protagonist can never have a relationship with Rita.
Given this, what exactly is the author trying to say about unrequited love? Is it good, bad, somewhere in the middle? What does it mean for characters that experience it? The meaning has escaped me, and so I was hoping that someone could clarify for me.
