Btw, does anyone know what they're saying in the first panel on this page? The big, bold words, that is.

(Please be warned this manga has some ecchi and nudity, but this page is worksafe.)

is it ok to substitute whole milk with sweet condensed milk in sponge cakes?

The problem with straight substitutions is that the properties of the substitute differ from the original. This causes a problem with the chemical reactions that occur when heat is applied.

Taking whole milk and sweet condensed milk...

Whole milk has more water than condensed does... so, you would have to add water to the condensed milk. Of course, you can't add a cup of condensed milk + water when the recipe asks for a cup of whole milk that would have too much fluid.

Also, there would be more sugar in the condensed milk than required for the recipe. Therefore, you would have to decrease the amount of regular sugar normally required for the recipe.

There's probably some fat/protein elimination during the condensation process; so, that would also have to be taken into consideration.

From what I see, skim milk + half and half would be better...

However, if you must...
Use 1/2 cup condensed milk plus 1/2 cup water (for 1 cup whole milk)
And figure out how much sugar was added to the condensed milk in order to subtract that from what the recipe calls for.

i tried it anyway, because i had lots of condensed milk cans and they're going to expire soon
the baking took much longer(instead of 25 min..it took about an hour)
just like you said, the dough was much thicker(i should have added water or something)
the result was okay but it shouldnt be left for more than one day...next day the remaining cake pieces were really hard

Can anyone recommend an online comprehensive version of Iliad, along with explanations and references? I know only the very basic things about Greek mythology and poetry, but I would love to read the poem - and understand it.

There's Google, and there's Wikipedia.
You know that thing I said a while back that you got offended by? Well, you keep proving me right.

I just googled it myself and got multiple good sources.

Dude, you have a long way to go before your opinion starts to matter to me.

Tried both, but as a noob, I have no idea which interpretations/explanations are correct and which ones are total trash, so I am looking for recommendations of sites that you found accurate.

Are you lonely or something? I'm starting to wonder if you are just using this thread so you can talk to people. If you want to communicate with people you can PM them instead of using this thread to ask silly questions on a daily basis. Just so that I do not spam I'll add the link.

By the way, it was the second link in google.

Because you can totally tell which are "total trash" from your lack of comprehension of the original language...or the English language, apparently....dude.

It's like asking for a recommendation for a "good" translation from the hundred different variations of The Divine Comedy.

How do you people drink floral teas?

Do you mix some sugar, milk or something else in it? Or do you just drink it straight?

I brew it until it's strong and then mix it with cool water (in a different cup).
No milk, no sugar.
But I never add either to my tea.

Edit:
lol, Scy, and I thought you had something serious in mind when you asked...
Oh well, I guess bashing idiots counts too.

No, I am not feeling lonely. I have enough people to talk to.

Please, just because someone asks a question in a fashion you do not agree with, it doesn't make him/her an idiot.
I did try google, and wikipedia, but I didn't find good links. Might have used the wrong keywords.
I've used SparkNotes before and found it to be full of mistakes, so I don't think I'll use that link.

I agree that my question is a tad stupid, sorry about that. Just recieved the lowest marks I have ever had in a test...
...I got nothing. Apologies, I'm just in a bad mood. Though I will request that you don't call people idiots or the like. It's irritating.

Edit: My question asks for reviews more than recommendations, in a way.

I have a question: What is up with the continual abuse against Casey D? So what if the things he asks can be found with a simple Google? Some people want personal recommendations rather than an answer based solely on keywords. And if it really bothers you so much, why do you even read or answer in the first place?
