Am i a show off if i use the F@H symbol? i actually want to do something descent, is it wrong to show it off, or more likely, am i missing the point?

Based on this article about the glorious Quadrantid meteor shower that's happening supposedly right now for those in eastern North America, what time do I from the west coast go out to view the show? Should I even do it? It states that it reaches its peak at 2:30am EST (11:30pm PST), but the moon is currently overpowering the darkness.. 🙁

Though wasn't it...yesterday?

So jelly though. The clouds covered the night/early morning sky. Not to mention that the chances of seeing it in the southern hemisphere was slim in the first place 🙁

A bit silly question: do you think people slip on banana peels in real life, or does it happen only in cartoons and such? It never happened to me or any of my friends (although I heard rumors that my high school teacher slipped on a banana and broke her leg, but she's mean so someone may have made this up), do you think it really does happen to people?

It probably happens in real life, and I've personally come close to that. I don't think it happens often though.

Well it is possible but you would have to take into account the friction between the floor(whether it is slippery beforehand or ice floors vs. rocky sidewalks) Mythbusters actually did an experiment on this testing whether or not it is possible to slip on a banana peel. It is not a silly question haha in fact it is a very good question.

I swear to god i tried it and it doesn't work. Also, (like Chisuchisu said) i think mythbuster also prove it to be nothing but a Myth.

It really depends on the scenario. A normal person walking by himself (not carrying anything or doing something that requires a lot of concentration on balancing) would not slip and fall.
A person on crutches probably would if he/she was not paying attention on where the crutches land.
A person with balancing issues would probably fall.
If the banana peel was on a flight of stairs, it has the potential to cause some falls as well.

The point is that one has a higher chance to slip and fall if they weren't expecting it - ie. you can't do an experiment on it by yourself when you're expecting a banana peel to be somewhere on the floor - even if you're blindfolded.

I placed several bananas peels on the floor and waited for my brother to step on them, he then just pass right through the bananas and later on watched the floor just to said: Wtf?

i tried it on friends, and i tried it on my self, trying to fall on propose and it was actually quite hard. i can assure you that it's almost impossible, it doesn't feel slippery at all, you would need to keep a lot of the banana on the peel for it to work, and that would be disgusting . 🙁

On a different surface it would be quite easy to slip and fall, and if someone is carrying a large box, let's say, and wearing tennis shoes, there is a possibility that the person will slip on the banana peel and fall. Even if you have experimented several times, the possibility still remains.
