oh wow =') I'm not the only one with this question.. yes, how do you invite..?
and yes!! it's revived! I can ask another: what's the difference between CD+R and CD-R or ±R etc etc etc etc... I did look it up, in case you think I didn't,... but I still don't know.
They're pretty much the same only that + offers faster writing. The +/- together is to do with compatibility with your cd/dvd player/rewriter. Obviously, having both is the best as you can use both cd/dvd formats. I normally use - as they are cheaper 🤣
thanks =') I'll buy the cheap one too copies but I don't understand the ± part..? I can use DVD? 🤢
But don't use off brand CDs and Dvds they rot.

Okay.. I only know that one is rewrittable.. meaning, you can copy something over it again when it already has something on it... I I thinks that's ±R. Right....? :/ 😕 Maybe I'm wrong.. :/

I stopped using RW, because you can't use the same disk on another computer..? I don't know =s I burned one for a project, and when I got to school to do my presentation, the laptop (that somebody lend me) couldn't read my RW disc... stupid thing. So, in case your computer breaks, and all your RW discs won't work anymore.. 🤢 but I guess it's okay if you still have the program to open them..

The cause it did not work was most likely that the CD-ROM drive did
not support the CD's transfer speed.
DVD-R(W) and DVD+R(W) use different technologies.
DVD+R format is a competing format to the DVD-R format.

±R and ±RW I believe has nothing to do with CD/DVDs since you won't find one with both signs on. ± is only for DVD players and burners to show that particular machine is compatible with both formats of discs.
If you find a -R/RW dvd player/burner then that is only compatible with -R/RW discs.
If you find a +R/RW dvd player/burner then that is only compatible with +R/RW discs.
If you find a ±R/RW dvd player/burner then that is compatible with both. Most dvd players/burners nowadays are compatible with both formats.
If you want, you could also find a burner that will accept dual-layer disc and blu-ray. You'll probably want one of this if you need to burn something around 9GB - 50GB.

oh thanks!!!
and gah! dual-layer disc is for highly-advanced technology people (not me) and a new computer (not mine..) I'll stick with my cheap no-floppy disc computer 😛

I should probably lock this thread... as resurrecting dead threads isn't exactly a good thing. But meh... for now, it's still a healthy thread, so unless another mod feels like locking it, and as long as it stays healthy... I'm not locking it.
Yes, I guess there is a bug with the PM system for normal users... If Manick sees the suggestion Vince made in the suggestion forum, he might fix it quickly. (Since it works already for us, it shouldn't be a hard to fix)
And as Vince said, it would have been better to make a thread in the bug forum... instead of resurrecting this thread.
And @Skittles, as many people said here already, + and - are different formats for CD's and DVD's.
If the disk reader is - and the cd is + it won't read. Which is what most likely happened to you when you tried your CD -RW on someone else's laptop. His player was just not good enough.

Basically it's a something that you can feed into something else.
You can sign up for a decent RSS service at Google. Then, you can add a subscription, a RSS url that you see on sites.
Basically, if you check for updates on a lot of sites that all have RSS, you can just suscribe to all of their RSS feeds and then only check on site every day. Saves time.

Hmm...Actually, now that you guys are mentioning the problem, I expect that the invite function for pms only exists for admins at this moment...Manick probably originally made it so that we admins could discuss issues together before the forum was made, and he just forgot to allow regular users to do it too...

So, if you clone yourself and have sex with the clone, is it masturbation or are you just gay?
