Is it just me or did a lot of web comics start to get translated recently? Not that I'm complaining just wanna know why...

Well personally I think it's because (1) it's easier to clean (2) it's easier to acquire of raws (3) it's often more interesting than easy-to-access raws

Also because they don't have to worry about marketing it to this or that audience the authors can do whatever they feel like with the story resulting in more original comics which is something most adult readers of manga want to break up the old formulas...

I hadn't noticed any webcomic aside from noblesse being translated... which ones are you talking about anyways?

Probably Trace and Noblesse got these korean webcomics more recognition, thats why more are being scanned now.

There are quite a lot already like the breaker: new waves and tower of god but its easier to just name some groups like Easy Going Scans and The Company that translate a lot of webcomics.

The authors' wishes might also factor into translation. While with classically published comics, scanlation activities are seen as theft and actively discouraged, many webcomic authors, no longer having to meet the demands of publishers, actually wish and encourage their works' translation into other languages by fans because they wish for their comics to be read.

As I understand it, breaker is also being published in paper form right now... it's just that the guys at A-team can't get the publications... seeing as they are not Korean.

Nope, there have been cases where the author has actually asked the scanlators to stop translating their stuff.

Breaker and Wonted are the ones I know about... but you see... that's because there are many more people getting directed to these English sites when searching for the title rather than the Korean sites.

So, if breaker and wonted had a korean name... there probably would not have been this problem.

I agree. So far, I've yet to be dissatisfied by webcomics. My faves are There's Something about Mary, Tower of God, Orange Marmalade... etc. They're really good.
