I am looking for a manga/novel with a male character that is considered sub-par in general, or even a loser, but starts improving rapidly after a female character either confesses her love to him, or gets into a relationship with him (or both).

The female character should NOT be the one that organizes his improvement though, nor should she give him "powers" or something like that.

If there are supernatural things and the like, she should be as informed as the average person.

In other words, the girl should have every reason to look down on the guy normally, but for some reason she is in love with him instead.

The closest example I have is how Shirasaki Kaori from Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Novel) is in love with Hajime, but with a confession/relationship happening before the male character starts his rapid improvement.

The main character doesn't have to be the guy.

Also try to avoid tragedy, gender bender and mecha.
