I noticed that on youtube videos especially tutorial videos like this:

people can record their own activity on their CPU screen.

Do anyone of you know what kind of program I could use/download to get this application?

camtasia is not free but a fairly good software and so is presentavid...
an alternative is Wink which is free and i think will be enough if your intentions at best is just screen capture.

and i don't know if Macromedia Captivate is free but it's also a great screen capturing software that lets you record anything you do on screen in the form of avi or mpg

Captivate is not free. I've had to purchase it for work before.

You could download Hypercam for free, but it'll have a watermark.
