I want to know if Kana is really fall for Rikuo-youkai side 🙂 how ? because he saved her many times ? In fact she'll know later, but this kind of relationship is quite funny.

As for your romance question.... I dunno coz I obviously haven't readt it yet.... but there's no 'romance' in the genre description. 😢

Until this chapter I was pretty sure there would be no romance, since it's non-ecchi WSJ... But now I'm not so sure. Comment on chapter 20:

Yeah, it is funny the way Kana acts... if she really does have a crush on the youkai side, it'd be cool if that were seriously developed. If it were just left as a one-sided wonderment toward him that would be lame, but the way she she acts in the last chapter is kind of fun. Well, I predict a positive relationship between Kana and Rikuo's youkai side in the future, even if it just develops into a closer friendship instead of a romance of any sort.

Yuki Onna with the kaleidoscope on the last page made the chapter for me. I'd still rather see her with Rikuo, but they need to develop her character a bit more first. Currently, I think the best couples are Yuki Onna x Rikuo and Kana x Rikuo's youkai side. :)

You know, I REALLY like this series so far, but it's got a lot of elements that are making me take a wait-and-see appraoch before officially saying it's really awesome or anything.

For one, there's the possible harem aspect. Please not in my action shonen, okay?

For another, there's the recent romantic developments in chapter 20. I'm really hoping since they're all 13 that the series will stay a little childish in that department and keep the romance to the side because Kana x Rikuo-youkai is a classic Lois Lane-style plot device: Superman is way cooler than Clark Kent, so she likes him way more. Personally, I always hate those types of plots. In this case it's especially annoying since Kanna was really into Rikuo a couple chapters back--even spying on him and Yuki Onna. But now she's totally forgotten about him because a cooler guy has shown up a couple times? That's a rude thing to do to your childhood friend, dude.

I'm also worried that regular-Rikuo will end up totally disappearing in favor of his cooler self (like in Yu-gi-oh). Rikuo-youkai IS cool, but regular-Rikuo is pretty funny. I don't need to see cool-Rikuo ALL the time...

The series could also develop an ecchi aspect to it, which would suck. I mean, they already did the onsen chapter and had half-naked girls in bath towels being attacked by youkai. So far there hasn't been much ecchi stuff beyond that, but you never know because in the oneshot the series was based off of, one of the youkais tried to rape the main female before Rikuo-youkai showed up to save her.

So we'll see. I like it so far, but I've also got my eye on it, because it could become totally awesome or go lame.

I don't think the harem thingy you are talking about will happen brid.

If you don't include the thing between Rikuo and Kana/Yuki Onna. Wich is just the usual love triangle but it should remains really light.

For the Clark - Super man thingy brid, she probably acted shy in front of Rikuo to tease him and isn't more interested in the youkai form than the human form (if she was interested in both I would find it normal though, since after all it's the same person, it would be weird to love one and hate the other for exemple, that's just me though). You can see the face she makes (where she is snickering) before (probably faking) her shyness in front of Rikuo. She just wanted to make him jalous ^^.

The manga is more thant just action, more than just romance, wich makes it great in my opinion 🙂 .

It's in Weekly Shonen Jump. So whenever a new chapter of Naruto comes out, a new one of this comes out as well. And the scanlations are current with the manga chapters, so releases of a chapter a week are as fast as it'll ever get.
