This week's poll was suggested by Viki.kdrama. What flavor of popcorn do you like the most? Obviously there's too many specific ones to count, so I just put the most common flavors as options. I visited Tokyo DisneySea last year and tried their curry flavored popcorn as well as their soy sauce & butter flavor. Very interesting...

Previous Poll Results:
Question: Would you like to rule one day (where a large number of people depend on you; e.g., CEO, president, ruler of Earth, etc.)?
Choices:
Yes - votes: 630 (29.6%)
No - votes: 1500 (70.4%)
There were 2130 total votes.
The poll ended: October 5th, 2024 10:44am PDT

Seems like most of us do not want the stress or responsibility

Just normal popcorn... As a kid i liked caramel one, but it was long time ago, nowadays it is too sweet for me...
I still don't understand why so many people add butter to popcorn, i hate my food being that greasy...

Does nutritional yeast count as cheese-related? I know "nutritional yeast" sounds like some unappetizing health supplement, but it tastes cheesy and delicious on popcorn. I find the flakes it usually comes in are too big to stick well, so I blitz them up and add a bit of salt and a touch of powdered sugar to the mix to really give it that cheese feel, it's crazy delicious!

I can't go back to making popcorn in the microwave ever since I started making it on the stove, the taste is just so much better (even if it doesn't tend to get quite as fluffy). I love to pop some up, use a little spray bottle of water to help the nutritional yeast stick and toss the popcorn in a generous amount of it, then chow down while reading a good manhwa.

Never saw others than salty and caramel ones in my childhood. I preferred sweet.
Though, it is not a proper food, so didn't eat it since then.

Definitely caramel as my go-to, or if available, strawberry flavor. Earlier this year I had the unfortunate chance to taste butter popcorn. It was disgusting, despite the heavenly smell.

Popcorn variety in Germany isn´t as of the rails as in America. I wouldn´t know half of these if it weren´t for pop culture.

Normal...? but kettle corn ain´t too bad.

I really like caramel popcorn with the extra crunch, but it's bad for my teeth. So I'll settle for kettle corn.

I like the toffee-type caramel flavor of Cracker Jack, so that's why I picked "caramel". But I think that if one of the flavor choices was "Cracker Jack", then that one would have gotten the most votes. As for greasy or sticky popcorn, I do not like them because they are a terrible snack when I have to grab a paper towel in order to touch something else. And I also have to hold my hand carefully to avoid touching clothing or anything else. It may seem overly fastidious to some people, but I really will not touch other things with a dirty hand as inconvenient as that is.

Growing up we only had normal (salty) popcorn in the Netherlands at home and in cinemas. At some point sweet popcorn was introduced, first in cinemas and later in supermarkets as well. Then at one point I and others had a eureka-moment in the cinema and we'd ask them to mix our popcorn. Nowadays naturally mixed popcorn is the supreme popcorn reigning over all.

There's indeed also an ugly corner for the least pleasurable popcorn variations human conception ever had the displeasure to come up with, such as caramel popcorn. Good grief

But at least we don't have butter popcorn like in North America, where they just pour molten diabetes over your salty popcorn.
