I don't know if this should be in the Chatter Box, but since it's kind of about Yaoi, I'll put it here.
I have a thing on my mind. I wish I was a gay guy 😕 I know it sounds weird. But gay guys are funny, cute, fun to be with, sexy, etc. In manga's or real life, I just love them! I guess if I was born as a boy, I would definitely be gay. Does anyone also think the same as me or am I just f*cked up in the head? 🙄 hides under the blanket

That's probably just the yaoi influence. actually, I always had such thoughts before, but only in the line of fantasizing. In the same way as I fantasize about being in Hogwarts, some fairytales or being impregnated by the Devil. But I think life would not be as easy as in yaoi. so yeah, you are not the only one.

if there is an option between "to do" and "not to do", I will always choose the latter.

This is a stereotype, although a positive one, that manga and TV puts forth of what gay men are like. In reality, gay men are just as diverse a group as any other. Just because you are gay does not mean you are going to be attractive, witty, charming, a good-dresser, fun-loving, etc. Also, being gay would mean you have to deal with a lot of discrimination

But I don't think you are crazy for wanting your life to be like a yaoi manga. It's not that much different from girls who fantasize about their life being like a shoujo manga. you want to be the adorable lead that has a happy ending with a hot guy.

Aw damn, now it sounds like I discriminated gays. I know they're not always like the stereotype, because I have a gay friend who's like a total weirdo. So it's not like I say all gays are the perfect men. Everyone is different after all and it's good that way 😛

Yup. But I just find it's easier to get to know the personality of my gay male friends, and I become closer to them, because they don't worry about the social front the straight guys I know have in front of girls, and I know I'm more comfortable being myself around someone I'm not worried about appearing attractive to.

So yes, the gay guys I know seem to me to be funnier and cuter, and generally are more attractive than the straight guys around me, but that might be partly because it's harder to get close otherwise.
