Argh I'm really depressed that they canceled Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Kai and School Days T-T. But i think whats more disturbing is the reason why they canceled them.
Heres link to article why they are being canceled:

Anyone else sad to hear this and/or disturbed by the reason?

yah I already heard about this too and was upset when higurashi was canceled but what im wondering bout is what kinda cop was he was he asleep or spaced out etc. because if he saw her wouldnt you try to get out if a 16 year old girl walked in carrying an axe (even family) and unless she was a muscular girl she wouldnt have been able to swing it very fast even assuming it was a simple wood axe and even more one cut wouldnt be enough from a weaker person unless a beheading was the way he died and even still if it was a wood axe it would be pretty blunt
im not sure about you but if that girl walked in i wouldnt walk up to her smile bend over and ask her how her day was

I'd go out with the girl.
I wish they would indefinitely postpone School Days. I don't wish for anyone to suffer another minute of that terrible show.

you are one very disturbed person...
@Kabaraki I think the girl killed her father while he was asleep because in the article it says the incident occur during predawn hours.

If the girl can use an ax, perhaps she knows how to chop wood. Then we could live in the countryside in a cottage made of grass, blessed by the earth fairies.
As we dance, her sword arm could support my weight, and we could strive to be the best dance partners in the world.
The gold medal is ours! I can taste it!
I watched it just to see what you were talking about. I gotta say. I'm freaked. I ususally watch Horror type things but I am a fan of mystery. I wanna know what happens.

Its stupidity how people see that real world events can be influenced by anime/movies. just because people commit murder, others are quick to point out something to explain such events just because it depicts something related to the event.
it was the same thing for evangelion here:

For a 16 year old girl to kill her father with an ax I really doubt she did so just because she thought "yeah that anime was sooo cool I should try doing the same to"!
She certainly had other motives, and I personally think that child abuse is most possibly one. Anime may have given her the idea for the weapon of choice. But blaming it all on anime/tv/video games is just parents trying to blame someone else for their own mistakes.
And I find this really frustrating... I was planning to watch Higurashi no naku koro ni Kai soon.

I was going to agree with you, until you said:

Blaming it is wrong... but but but, it's so violent! Cancelling is right, on TV I mean. They can continue sell it...

They should probably cancel it. And weren't the episodes canceled AFTER the incident occurred? That means that the girl wasn't really influenced by the last episode. Unless there was ax swinging before. I dunno, haven't seen the show.
But yes, anime, manga, movies, and books can influence people in real life. It's gotten me thinking on a few issues, but not wanting to kill anyone, etc.

Yes, it's true that some kids can be easily influenced. But that is also the responsibility of the parents. If you have that kind of kids... watch them more carefully.
I was watching horror movies and playing video games since the age of 3... It's just a matter of making sure your kids can really tell apart between reality and fiction.
And there's the rating system to warn parents... I'm not sure if japan has that or not. But I know that when Hellsing was being broadcasted it was done after midnight so that little kids won't watch that. So there is certainly some form of consciousness.
In the end it is the parents responsibility. Everybody else is free to watch what they like.
I was amazed at some of my family friends leaving their kids watch absolutely anything as long as it was animated without even checking what it was.... And I found their kids watching south park... and then they where blaming school for teaching their kids all that cursing... lol...
@Skittles, what's wrong with watching killer lolies? I found that show extremely creepy... that's why I enjoy it lol.

D= watching horror movies @ 3? I couldn't even tell the difference between the food I eat... Then I guess you'd allow your kids to watch them too, right? Learn young 🤣 such matured people!!
