The "Last" was NOT the final movie as expected.
"Naruto manga creator Masashi Kishimoto announced more details on next August's new Naruto project during a stage greeting at a Tokyo screening of The Last -Naruto the Movie- on Saturday. He is serving as chief production supervisor for next year's movie."
Edit: And the anime is now doing a filler arc because money dear son 😁 .
