Matriarchal Society
My life wouldn't be much different.
It might be nice to trade places and have a woman wine & dine ME for a change. lol.

I think if it was like the past it would be a scary place, because all the rights of one sex would be taken away. And even scarier because oddly enough if the world started out purely as a matriarchal society, i don't think women would ever lose power. I say we run a tight ship and while carrying a child to term is a difficult task that is why men in the past however sexist they were still had to take care and maybe even respect their wives and mothers, but well a few sperm here and there does nothing to gain grounds for any sort of power, position or protection.

really.. read Peggy Reeves Sanday's "Women at the Center: Life in a Modern Matriarchy". or at least find the article of it on the net. cause from what i've read here most people don't know what matrilineal society really mean.
i guess i'll continue with my own life.not much change is gonna happen,is there? or if there're a lot of changes, then i'll just have to get accustomed to it.i wouldn't bother to demand to bring back things the way it used to be.i'm too lazy.
and if the world was ruled by women,it'll be like a giant quilting club 😲

Hope that they don't go all feminazi on me

I don't think anything substantial will change, if we take the current society and switch the gender roles.
At most I won't need to take money with me to a bar 😛
Wars won't change much, humans will be humans, be they man or woman.
Now politicians start wars with the excuse of ideologies or religion but really just want more power, money, etc.
With women ruling politics we will have wars due to ideologies or religion, but really they just want more materials for shoes.
I kid, but women do love their shoes.
Do but despise reason and science,
The highest of all human gifts -
Then you have surrendered to the Devil
And must surely perish. - J.W. von Goethe

As things are now it wouldn't work. If the gender roles were different, if the physical characteristics would make it possible, then it wouldn't be so weird. Or else, if the world were to change so that the male characteristics would become less and less meaningful and female characteristics would be the most useful ones for ruling the world.

You'd think I'd be happy, 'cause I'm a woman, but the truth is... I'd be indifferent.
Society is still society. I've never been too fond of or invested in social mores, so it doesn't much matter who's "in charge" - either way, there will be injustices/inequalities, albeit of different kinds.
I'm a humanist; it would upset me if inequality of any kind existed.
So I'd be just as displeased with a matriarchy as I would be with a patriarchy, to be honest. I'd be indifferent to the change - not happier or unhappier, just equally (un)happy.

Nowadays in most developed countries women are much closer to men than, say, a century ago, in terms of social standing and employment. It's not completely equal yet, of course, and I doubt it ever will be if you live in a culture with patriarchal social norms, even if they are mostly phased out.
I think TC is referring to a situation in which men would be very clearly subordinated to women, like with the Amazons of Greek mythology. A society in which it would be completely acceptable to openly treat men as second class citizens. I wouldn't know what to do then, assuming I still remembered what real life is like. It would suck.
Another hypothetical situation to consider would be one similar to today, where most, but not all, of the discrimination has been phased out over time, though one side still has particular priviliges, spoken or unspoken. So that means handsome men would get into clubs for free? And we could always expect to be treated on dates? Haha, weird.

Thanks, Captain Obvious, for giving such a stunning analysis of why this is a hypothetical question instead of reality. Keep protecting the city to all our benefit.
