Is volume 0 (zero) Important?

i know there a volune zero but no scan it, so i just wondering if it important or some part story that not to be told. well? i hasn't read this yet but i will, is imporatant part of the story or i just left out not to be scan?

at least sometimes (maybe all time?) it's the pilot and not critical to the story.
