ok so last chapter ended with jio and company going to the inverted city to fight the bad guy(can't remember the name) and now we found out that not only the fight is already over but 500 hundred years already passed........... again WTH 😲

on the other hand this new jio seems interesting, I hope we won't have another time skip at the interesting part. 🤢 . What do you think of this "twist"??

I think it's gonna be something like a time travel from a paralel universe. The second Jio somehow gonna end up in the past/present with Jio the first.

anyone fimiliar with the dragon palace legond form i believe japan (possibly china) where time inside passes extremely slow, but outside goes normal.

i dont know the whole situation, but when you have magic involved you cant rule this one out. that is if this is the case.

I haven't read this yet but from Amazon.co.jp, seems like reviews were terrible for this series(I can't read Japanese though). I think many hated the artwork or something like that. And some said that everything was very messy, blah blah blah...

Omg I totally agree with you -.- Though then, why did Tokyo Crazy Paradise ever get published up to 19 volumes?

The art was totally messed up (at least in the beginning), but I guess the story satisfied the mainstream.

In my opinion it's not the art but the plot that just doesn't go with generic shounen people expect. Look at Ares, Demon Ororon (well the sequel got discontinued) or the latest chapters of Hunter X Hunter!! (ugh the art -.-) Though I've known a few works that went outside generic of a certain genre and still survived till the end.

I think there must be more behind it, probably he didn't get backed up by his publisher and well, financial problems.

I think it's not just about the writing but remember, Japan thrives heavily on stereotypes. So often, certain mixture of stereotypes will make or break a series.

And also, what do most average teenage males read? Definitely not TCP. Think Naruto, FMA, and other high-action series, etc. OP= for older male readers. As for female readers who buy shounen manga, not too sure what is popular. However, again, many teens are too young to go for alternative writing.

TCP has many vols simply cos the more vols there are, the more profit there is to be made. Did you ever see many of those Hana to Yume series? Or Melody series? Some of them have 10 to 20++ series. They probably don't sell as many copies as SJ series but quite a few must sell a fair amount and the publisher makes up for it by having many other mid-length to very lengthy series too.

The response in this thread probably convinces me of something: most likely, the manga was serialised for the wrong demographics. 😛 Not just the plot, the art but also something about the tone(from different responses) strikes me as elements that won't be accepted easily by teen readers who're still heavily stuck on stereotypes on how a certain type of manga should be drawn, depicted and developed.

Ja, The pot calling the kettle black. If " Japan thrives heavily on stereotypes" then the USA is drown with them. Really pisses me off when people insults an entire country for not being "original" (not an author or a company, no, the ENTIRE country is called stereotypical because of ONE series, Just imagine if people used that same logic and applied it to the USA), yet they fail to mention one example of a series they consider "not stereotypical", not to mention that compared with the whole Hollywood industry and TV/novels around the world, Japan is the bastion of originality, seriously. Why don't people go and demand "originality" in their own countries instead of insulting one the other side of the world, for God's sake.
