It was a joke, jerkass. I guess not everyone is familiar with South Park. And I thought it was relevant to the thread, I'll admit it had an edge to it, but it's South Park. That's all its got.

Maybe you really should locked it. Looking how this topic evolved into a discussion about one of the worst South Park episodes.
Well this topic had some meaning. We learned that
1)Japan during WWII was as bad as USSR and III Reich(for occupied countries population ofcourse...Stalin was treating everyone almost equally, which we can't say about J and Reich)
2)Japanese special police was the same as gestapo or NKWD.
3)A-bomb ironicly saved lot of lifes in former British Empire(Singapore, Malay etc) and China. BUT americans can't take credit for that because I doubt they cared about people living on Timor.

It also saved lives in Japan. But other than that, yeah that's about everything.

I'm not surprised at what I've read in this thread, considering history. But it is sort of off its original point; that Japan rewrites its history. Which, by the way, is definitely true. It is disturbing that some in their government, i e their former Prime Minister Abe (with his views on comfort women), are even visiting the shrines of the war dead who carried out the atrocities detailed by other posters while denying what they did. What Imperial Japan did isn't in question, nor is this a discussion on which country was/is the worst. What is being discussed (or was being discussed) here is whether or not it is true that Japan rewrites history. It is true that not all Japanese in Japan ignore what Imperial Japan did in WWII, but some of the actions certain current/former government leaders have done clearly show there is still a long way to go before Japan admits what it has done.

I give kudos to the nations who have admitted their past mistakes and given formal apologies and/or restitution; it doesn't excuse what they've done, but it's a step forward.

(forgive my longwindedness, I'm frustrated certain series have not released chapters ) 🙁
