Sorry for the lame title but I figured it would
be somewhat eye catching. On to the topic!
Okay so what's up with Mario Kart? Yes it's
a fun game but how many times can they actually
remake it before people finally get annoyed with it?
Sure playing Rainbow Road with people online is
fun but seriously will there ever be an end to it being
remade? There was another question I wanted to ask but
it slipped away from my grasp. If I think of it again I'll edit
my post later. Sorry if this is a lame topic but I really am
quite curious as to what everyone's opinions are.

Mario Kart and Lame do not belong in the same sentence unless there is a 'not' between them.

If they remake it for every console generation, that means that they can improve graphics and features, which builds on an already huge platform.

I'm not a gamer though, so take my words with a grain of salt.

I dont see anything wrong with remaking it for each console. I guess the handheld titles may have been a overdoing it a bit, but its a solid game so with the improvements offered by a new system to play it on, I dont see why they shouldnt keep making more of them, as long as they stick to the same type of gameplay it will just feel like the same game only a bit better.

Seconded, on all counts. Especially the need of a 'not' in the statement.

It's one of like, five games that I can actually handle, non-gamer that I am. Don't kill the one thing I can actually play well!!!!

Racing games, if you look at it, all get boring really quickly. I say it takes less skill to race than to fight. (eg. Mario Kart vs Super Smash Bros.) Less skill is needed :\
Even so, I don't see why not remake it every few years or so. Newer generations want newer stuff.
It's all good....until they play the ads non-stop in the morning during my cartoon shows! >.<

^I agree that character based racing games are exceedingly easy, but imo GT and others are more difficult and addicting than most other games I have ever played.

Play Toca (any in the series) and then say that.

Well I mainly made this just to view other people's
opinions on the subject. I mean I enjoy playing Mario
Kart but it's just not in my favorite games list. I'm more
into rpg's then anything.

It may be becasue I lack sleep but I agree with you, ahoaho. eek

I love Mario Kart. It's a little kid game but it's good for all ages. It's not dangerous.
And don't try to say crap about "You throw a freakin' turtle shell at people!"
Where would you get a turtle shell? > embarrassed

I'm not a big fan of Mario Kart either. But I have to admit that it's a great party game and that there are a lot of people who like it. I'm pretty sure that they haven't changed the game so much that it has become something completely different or kept enough so that it is essentially the same, which is how games appeal to new and seasoned gamers alike when they are first released.

That creates a whole new argument about cruelty to turtles!!!

Anyways, I think Mario Kart will always be popular in one way or another, even if the newer versions or remakes loose appeal to older gamers who are used to the original games, they typically gain more appeal with the younger gamers. Mind you I'm not exactly big into video games anymore.

Edit: Yes, most of this post was just to justify that lame joke about turtles . . .

One thing I forgot to add about many Mario games in general... including Mario Kart.

CUTE LITTLE BOMBS THAT GO BOOM!!!!!!!! You can't beat that. That might be another reason why the games are so popular no matter how many times they're remade.
