The idea came up a few days ago but i wasn't sure if i should bring it up.

has anyone ever thought of making up a chat type thing for the site? like an instant messaging program of the sort only for here.
along those lines not something that is on say 24/7 but like an event type thing maybe once a week etc for a few hours(announced of course so people would know). give the members(active members) a period of random interaction in a huge group. topics for each event could be made up and polled for which to use as a conversation starter.

i know it sounds unorganized etc, but i think it could be quite fun.

sounds like IRC to me...might as well join the #baka-updates channel @ irc.rizon.net. Also another suggestion wuold be a shoutbox, common in a lot of interactive forums.

For right now, we use the irc channel... though the shoutbox idea sounds interesting. I'll give it some thought for our new layout.

yeah, it came to me while on irc.

as for baka-updates. i have been logged on to it for a while. it dies out a lot of the time. like right now nothing is going on. which is why i proposed it as more of an event that is accessible to those who don't want to use irc etc.

plus this forum feels more like a community than irc. i say that since we have topics that people have posted about that reflect their personality etc. irc you can talk about things also but it's just different. anywho just an idea. i'm not sure what a shoutbox is. but if that is the other option i vote yay
