I'm looking for a manga - possibly a one-volume compilation of short stories, or a one-shot that was a side story in a series. One of the stories is about this boy who is part of a species that can fly. He leaves his village and goes to a big city, where he's treated like an exotic animal and is made to give performances. He then runs away and meets a woman (or was it a man) who takes him in and looks after him. But later the boy finds out that his new guardian is the same species as him.

From memory, the manga was old-school - maybe early 90s or late 80s. The art is reminiscent of Hagio Moto, but I'm pretty sure it was by a different author.

Yes! I found it. Anyway, it's, "A Fairytale Judas," the second story of A Million-Pound Love by Shimizu Reiko.

PS: I especially like the fourth chapter, "Metal and Bride."
