More Info on Moyashimon Live-Action
Fuji TV ended a press conference by confirming the staff and cast of the live-action drama adaptation of Masayuki Ishikawa's Moyashimon manga. Akira Iwamoto is directing off scripts that are being supervised by Natsuko Takahashi. Shirogumi is handling production and visual effects, including Moyashimon's signature super-deformed germs. (As part of the press conference's "AR" theme, the conference used augmented-reality technology to give live, albeit short, demonstrations of Shirogumi's special effects.)
Yuichi Nakamura will star in the Moyashimon drama when it premieres in July at 24:45 on Thursday, and Chisun, Koji Nishida, Akihiro Kimura, Natsuki Katō, Yuri Hane, and Toshio Kurosawa round out the cast. All of the actors except Hane and Kurosawa appeared at the press conference to introduce their characters and the drama's promotional video.
The official website for the live-action drama adaptation of Masayuki Ishikawa's Moyashimon manga has launched with a one-minute promotional video on Sunday. (In the linked page, select the pink "スペシャル" germ in the menu at the bottom.) The July television series will be the first live-action work on the Fuji TV's popular late-night Noitamina timeslot. The story follows a college student who discovers that he can see and communicate with the germs all around him — germs that appear as super-deformed characters. Yuichi Nakamura and the other stars of the drama presented the video during Sunday's press conference for Noitamina's 2010 lineup.
