Feh, I don't think I've watched over 10 shoujo anime. Most of it sucks so much I can't stomach a full episode.

How's THAT FOR SHOUJO, B!TCHE$!!! Their all based on Otome games so basically you expect hot, good looking guys surrounding one girl. Kyaa! And the character designs are just made but two of my favorite artists, such as Kazuki Yone who also designed the characters of Hiiro no Kakera, which is, by the way, going to be adapted into an anime soon too (forgot the date of its release, though)... HA HA HA XD

Sorry I was cussing a lot. he he...It's just that I just came over this forum and I could not help but state out these two animes. I still have a like a billion ideas in mind that I'd like to recommend (like Neo Angelique, Yumeiro Pâtissière, and other sh!tcraps etcs) but most people here have probably already mentioned most of them except for these two up there, so I can't actually state out my top 10 or comes close to ranking my favorite shoujos because, I LOVE THEM ALL!! Since you did mention you look more into the art than the plot, I'm kinda like that too. Give these animes a try and tell me what you think. PIECE OUT!!!

I don't think I've watched ten shoujo animes. 😐 They are not nice that often. I have read a lot of shoujo (and josei) manga, I tell you, but the shoujo animes often seems worse than the mangas.

One shoujo anime I have enjoyed watching is lovely complex, made me laugh and cry a couple of times. Edit: ah, and paradise kiss.

I really love good artwork too, but there's a limit to how silly and bad a plot can be. The artwork can only do so much as to save the manga's/anime's lacking plot, and in this case, the art couldn't save starry sky at all. 😐

2. Natsume Yuujincho -- <33...hyped right now since I just marathoned it. I love Nyanko-sensei <3
3. Nodame Cantabile -- very cute, I loved the musical theme
4. Ouran High School Host Club -- got me interested in shoujos (both reading and watching)~I loved how it was a self parody ^^
5. Lovely Complex -- 🤣 this was so funny and cute at the same time
6. Nana -- beautiful but...zomg...cries... I will be the voice of dissent. Please don't make new episodes of this anime! It ended in a perfect place~I don't want to be more depressed! 😔
7. The Girl Who Leapt Through Time -- (this counts right?) really beautiful movie about a girl who travels into the past to change the future
8. Princess Tutu -- Loved the ballet theme. I could personally relate to it since I use to take ballet when I was little.
9. Paradise Kiss -- animation was beautiful. It was like watching a piece of art
10. Skip Beat -- funny~entertaining, but it kind of went no where and stopped in an evil place...then again the manga drags on too 🤢
