Well. Rabies are kind of like the zombie viruses for animals, I guess.

(I just saw episode 1 of AMC's Walking Dead. Holy shit.)

I hear you say "Why?" Always "Why?" You see things; and you say "Why?" But I dream things that never were; and I say "Why not?"

You have just entered the field of cryptozoology. Mystery critters that have been seen but have not been confirmed to exist due to a lack of proof.

Heres a list of some. Good ol' wiki.

As for believing if they exist I'll have to say it's possible but some may have been real sightings long ago and they went extinct by now... creatures like bigfoot and the lochness monster.

The Kraken? Or some other Leviathan?

There are theories that these might have been colossal squids, which really do exist, but are VERY rarely seen.

Kraken. Biologists found cropses of some really huge octupus like they were described in the stories. Isn´t leviathan from yu-gi-oh?

Well, that's kind of the point, really. You can't know everything, but you can always google first.
